ABC Hires Timberfuck (http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/other_sports/7147682.htm)
• ABC on Thursday signed recording artist Justin Timberlake as a correspondent on the NBA and other ABC sports programs. He will write ABC's NBA theme music and star in its NBA promotional campaign.
Well, ABC just lost a viewer. Will get my NBA on other channels. Seriously, why the fuck would they do this? Someone who's not a basketball fan is going to start watching the NBA because Cam Diaz' man-ho is associated with it? Ugh.

Great, yet another example of Justin trying to be black.

I seriously don't get why everyone gives Timberlake such shit? I'll be the first to admit I thought N'Sync was a pile of shit, but dont you think maybe Justin has realized this and moved on with his career? For anyone who has ACTUALLY listened to his album 'Justified' it is pretty fucking good. albeit maybe because i love the Neptunes and Timbaland, and they both produce most of the cd, he is musically talented. I also had a chance to catch him at the Sarstock concert in Toronto, when he was bombarded with water bottles, poor guy, he did play an awesome set tho.
I think his image is that he IS a teen idol, and pop idol, but really i think he's talented and i actually like his music. I think people are too ignorant to even attempt to listen to his music due to his previous career choices.
As for this ABC basketball thing, who's to say he DOESNT like the NBA...as far as I know he loves basketball, and he got the job probly because he likes it, and well, hes got the talent. Its also good to maybe get more viewers into the game, from a crowd that hasn't been fully exposed to it yet.

Timberlake's a huge NBA fan. And really, can the theme music get any worse?
I've got no problem with this at all.

It, like everything on TV, is a big ratings ploy. ABC's NBA numbers are insanely low, and they think this may attract younger fans. They may be right.
If he's good, he's good. If he's like Dennis Miller on Monday Night Football, the sooner he leaves, the better. We'll have to wait and see.

Hey, Miller rocked on MNF. Just cause the average beer-swilling football fan has no idea what the Tigris and Euphrates are, doesn't mean he didn't know what he was talking about.
I'd rather listen to 10 Dennis Miller's talk than one John Madden.
Let's give Timberlake time. Maybe he'll know of what he speaks.

I don't doubt he knew what he was talking about, but oh my...

I'm not surprised. I mean, I'm positive that the name Justin Timberlake is the first name you think of when the word "Black superstar" is said

Question, will Justin outlast Dennis Miller?
Anyway, here's a repsonse from fellow schmoe Cunning Visions who memorably left this in the Justin Timberlake Sports Reporter Thread back in May 2003....
I wonder how Justins wanna-be "hip" lingo will go over with the Nascar crowd?
Justin: "Yo that driving was mad tight"
Dale Jarrett: (somewhat confused) "Yes..that was quite a tight turn"
Justin: "When I saw you drive fast I was like DAMN...thats some dope stuff kid"
Dale: "Dope?..Umm no I do not do any narcotics while driving"
Justin: "Fo shizzle"
Dale: (Just stares at Justin)
Justin: "Well I gots to be out..peace out dawg"
Dale: "Who ARE you?"

Awwww thanks BorderEevil. It's good to know my hard work is appreciated :p
Well I have an advanced copy of Justins opening theme song and here it is. *Song starts with a hip-hop bass line..then Justin starts "rapping"* "I'm lovin' it...it's the NBA. So sit dat booty down and watch it today. I'm rockin' it...here wit ya'll. So let's get this party started and watch b-ball. There's my dawg Kobe Bryant fo shizzle givin' it up to Shaquille O' Nizzle. Is dat my man Paul Pierce rippin' up somethin' fierce? Ohhh yeeeahhh! Can you feel the funk?...watchin' Lebron James goin' up for a dunk. Wooot! They all want the same thing...that piece of bling bling called a champions ring. So lets sit back...relax... and enjoy da show. The refs about ready to let dat whistle blow. Are you feelin' it?..then I guess I'm to blame. Cause I'm gonna have you nekkid by the end of this game! *Starts singing in a whiny, girly sounding voice* It's the NBA on ABC....oooh yeeeaaahhhhh girl!"
Well there it is. I'm not to sure if I like it much :D

This is just like when ABC got Leonardo DiCaprio to interview Bill Clinton for Earth Day and pissed off their own network's journalists.
ABC is in desperate need of a ratings grabbers, this is just another example.

I remember that! It got lowwwwwww ratings too. The whole thing backfired on them.
Always put quotation marks around "interview" when it's DiCaprio doing the interviewing. ;)

I think I'll watch the 76ers and the Knicks on MUTE, now.

I guess nobody liked the theme song :(
Anyways, I'm still not sure about this. Something just seems wrong. It's like having Michael Jackson host the Nickelodeons Kids Choice Awards...it's just not right.

Oh my God...that hits the nail right on the head. I'm with the others though; I'll give him a chance...5 minutes anyway, before I hit the MUTE button. :D
