Over here in Canada they cost about $24.99 a pop. My local video store has them for &19.99 and Blockbuster has some pretty good deals too. I bought Pearl Harbor Director's Cut for $35.00

Here in the states they run at about $16.99 -$17.99. (At Wal-Mart)

How much does one American dollar equal in Canada? I'm just curious and I'm sorry this is off-topic.

There's 60 cents in the difference.
Canadian - $1.60
American - $1.00

English DVDs cost about £17.99-£20.00 for new releases, and about £10 for back catalogue films. That's US$27-31 or CAD$43-48 for new releases and US$15 or CAD$24 for back catalogue. I buy a few DVDs from Australia where the price is about AU$40 for a new release, which is £15 or US$22 or CAD$34.

I generally go to www.dvdpricesearch.com (http://www.dvdpricesearch.com) to see the best prices available on the net. Then I try to find cheaper deals on ebay. I almost never buy them directly from the store at retail price.

Really? The American dollar is trading at 64 cents CDN, I thought that made it
Canadian - $1.36
American - $1.00
If it was $1.60 then we'd be getting even more ripped off on the US dollar than we are now!
But I could be wrong...

PorcheRacer, where do you live?
They're about 27-32 on average here. Criterions start at around 40$(for the bare bones ones, with the exception of Chasing Amy and a few others since Traffic and Tenenbaums came out) and go up to 100$(well, only one, In the Mood for Love).
The stores here really charge too much if you're getting them for 25 bucks a pop.
See, the DVD's at Blockbuster are some of the priciest you can find.
Wal-Mart's the cheapest place here too, if they get them. There are a lot that I'd like to have but they don't get. Otherwise, Future Shop is the best.

That's because Future Shop is owned by Best Buy.

Not all new releases in the UK are £19.99. Lots of new releases lately have been £16.99 which is a bit better. Recently Training Day was only about £13.99 which is excellent.

At my Blockbuster the most expensive pre-viewed DVDs are $25.03. I'm going up next week to get Collateral Damage for $14.95.
