View Full Version : Does anyone feel empty when Halloween ends?
I feel semi-depressed this year over it. It feels like it went so fast! I didn't get to spend as much as time as I wanted with my horror movies, and I did like 14 hours worth the movies! I am lonely now... HALLOWEEN IS HERE AND GONE AGAIN! :(

I'm not so much into Halloween anymore, but I know what you mean. After all the anticipation for Christmas, all the "freshness" of it just goes away by end of day December 25. It's as if the opening of the presents takes away from all of the suspense and anticapation.

No. I'm glad it's over. There is nothing worse then a bunch of snot nosed kids comming to you're house while you're trying to get drunk and relax.
I never did like Halloween.

November is certainly boring, and I detest Thanksgiving (oh, gee...a family gathering), but everyday is Halloween. The "non-believers" have dropped the horror act, but I'll just keep celebrating until October 31 rolls around next year. This addiction is perpetual.

Count, I love you! I wish I could have that state of mind. Although I agree with you to some point... THANKSGIVING DOES SUCK! I never liked it... I never will. I'll try to live my life after the great Count.

Considering that this Halloween was the best I've had and kicked serious ass (what's better than a Halloween party with your friends?) yes, I do already miss it.

Whoa whoa whoa....There is nothing better than a day where you're encouraged to gain 5 pounds......I mean the family part is overrated but how can you not dig all that food? As for halloween I dig it but like PsychoChick said those little bastard kids knocking on my door when Im trying to drink, watch movies, and get laid does annoy me......:D Happy NOVEMBER 1ST

Well, the pumpkin light has been blown out, the dissaray that is my dining room table is a mess of black and orange, and I am actually not that hung over. Yes, the end of Halloween is depressing and while I share no thoughts whatsoever with Psychochick on this matter, I am glad to have that anxious feeling I get every year over.
But the end of Halloween just opens the door for me to celebrate another holiday, Dia De Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.
This allows me to carry for just a couple more days longer.
Hope everyone had a good one.

I had a mediocre Halloween. I didn't watch as many flicks as I wanted to and we hadn't put up any decorations or carved a jack-o-latern. But even though it's over, I've watched some great horror films leading up to it.

I had a really fun party and saw:
-Halloween 4
-Halloween 5
-Halloween H20
-Blair Witch Project (which I liked more than usual)
-HO1KC
Yep! I didn't see Final Destination.
But that's about it for Halloween '03.

I agree. A 'joke':
Q: What's the difference between Trick or Treaters and Jehova's Witnesses?
A: No, really, WHAT'S THE BLOODY DIFFERENCE?! ;)

IMO, Halloween should last like 3 days or something. 1 night goes by waaay to fast. I had an awesome time last night, but it felt too short. Oh well, I'm seein' Scary movie 3 again tonight, maybe that'll cheer me up...

Oh no way, Halloween is year round in my home. I just got back from raiding the after Halloween sales at various stores! It feels like Christmas. I have so much stuff. I bought hundreds of dollars worth of stuff for the fraction of the cost. I spent 200.00 for 500.00 worth of stuff! I am so elated!:D

Eh, holidays aren't my thing. The only thing I enjoy about them is the 'get togethers' (halloween has the parties, christmas is a good time of year to hang out with those close to you, valentine's day with girlfriend etc.). I do dislike thanksgiving, as I never really go anywhere for that, and the holiday itself is ridiculous. Let's celebrate what we're grateful for by stuffing our mouths! Hyuck! Yeah, I'm that health-freak everyone hates. Sorry.
It's come and gone just as it should. No loss.

There's no such thing as 'Thanksgiving' here in Mexico. I mean, there's a "Dia de gracias" (which is the same) but it's not nearly as important as any other holiday like Christmas.

The holidays are like a freaking roller-coaster ride, but at least there's always something else to look forward to...after Halloween its Christmas and New Year's, then Mardi Gras (at least for us Louisianians!), then Easter, the end of school, summer, back to school, and Halloween all over again.
Halloween is still my favorite holiday, though.

Actually, it lasts two days in Mexico.
Oct 31st: Halloween. Holiday we stole from you.:D and it's celebrated like you do.
Nov. 1st: Dia de muertos (Day of the dead) Which is only a holiday to remember the gone with altars and stuff.

I think that the older you get, the more you don't care. When I was younger, I started counting down the days in August, whereas this year, I started sometime in October. And yesterday didn't even feel like Halloween (partially due to the goddamn SNOW that's on the ground) because it was so fucking cold that my entire body was numb and I could barely even mumble my insanely clever remarks ;). Shit, my parents didn't even give out candy and we didn't put up our decorations or nothing (probably cuz they're all in my room, but what can ya do?). I think the one thing that kept me going last night was knowing how much Halloween rocks and that it doesn't get the respect that it deserves. I mean, we should get a day off school for that shit! Fuck all those other days, long live Halloween!

I only went out for Hallows Eve this year because last year I was mugged and shot at with a paintball gun(don't ask-long story). I have lost the candy spirit of Halloween. Next year I'm having a partay.

Say, if you sad people out there are drearily getting by until next Halloween, why not "Halloweenize" the other holidays like Jack Skelington does in Nightmare Before Xmas? Like when Thanksgiving rolls around, what could be cooler than carving up a turkey while wearing a hockey mask while watching a horror flick set in pilgrim or pioneer days like Eyes of Fire, Maleficia, or Curse of the Blair Witch?
Christmas could have stockings literally "hung" from nooses and your tree could be a leafless dead oak with halloween lights strewn across it. Play some good tunes like Christmas With the Devil by Spinal Tap or Christmas at Ground Zero by Weird Al.
Why the hell not? Your family would think you were weird? *pshaw*

Well I love Halloween, and glad it's only one day long every year (this builds up anticipation of the next October 31).
But it IS a dreary feeling taking down all the decorations on November 1 or whenever. The fun is over.
This year here in Memphis, TN, it did NOT feel like Halloween. It was unusually warm, like 83 or somethin' in the day and only around 75 at night. Weeeeak!
