It seems like a lot of NFL players are doing commercials these days. But I've noticed that maybe they're a curse?

Look at the Pizza Hut commercial, there's Rich Gannon and Michael Strahan. Both teams of these players have had very dismal seasons so far, after having high expectations. Both teams made the playoffs last year and were expected to return strong this year.

Donovan McNabb is in a ton of Soup commercials these days, and the former Pro-Bowler has had a terrible season, as has his team. The Eagles were among the NFC favorites at the start of the year.

Then there's Brian Urlacher who also does the Soup commercials, and deodorant commercials.... he plays for the Bears. Need I say more? :D

So, is it bad luck for NFL players to do commercials?

Good point. Although Brian Urlacher is a great player - maybe he should focus on the ol' pig-skin instead of Snickers commercials.

My friend and I have also noticed the "Madden" videogame cover jinx, this year's casualty being Michael Vick.

ray lewis is doing commercials for nfl authentic gear... he's having a perfectly fine season.

the barber twins (ronde and tiki) have a commercial as well- a visa commercial, as well as a champs sports (or is it finishline, ah well) commercial.

michael vick's and terrell owens new nike commercial (mostly computer generated) is pretty hot as well. too bad vick isn't playing.

There also seems to be the EA Sports jinx Danny Heatley is on NHL 2004, Randy Johnson was on MVP 2003, Jerome Iginla was on NHL 2003 ans spend the first month of the season last year in a slump because of a wrist injury. I don't know about the NBA covers I think Jason Kidd is on 1 of them but beware Vince Carter who is on NBA Live 2004.
