I haven't posted in the rant forum until now because mainly every thing I want to rant about has already been covered by other people. I'm probably gunna ramble a bit, but whatever.

Last night (HALLOWEEN!) I was kickin back and watchig one of my favourite horror films, Tales From the Crypt Presents Demon Knight () . As I was watching, I had to go to the door every now and then and hand out candy (Oh Henry's to be precise) to all the kids. Fun times.

Well about halfway through the movie this mom and her two kids show up at my doorstep for candy. The mom saw Demon Knight playing on the Tv behind me and started freaking out about how I shouldn't leave movies like that in plain site of children. It wasn't even at a gory part or anything, just showed a bunch of uglyass demons running around. She was saying I should be more responsible around children and blah blah blah. Went on for like half a minute about it.

I was thinking of pulling a soup nazi (NO CANDY FOR YOU!), but I didn't wanna make the kids suffer just cause their mom's a bitch. I just smiled, gave them their candy and closed the door without saying anything to the woman.

I think the reason for this post is pretty obvious, since it was my house I think I should be able to watch whatever I want without being bitched at by some parent. If the movie was at a part where some guy was getting his head punched through, yeah, I probably would have stopped it before I opened the door so it wouldn't warp the little kiddies minds. But the stuff she was complaining about is the kind of thing they leave in the tv version.

People like this really piss me off.

Welcome to the Rant Rant Rant Board, Jurassic. May you share many things that piss you off with us over the years....

On the subject of the rant, I think you were in the right in what you did. If you want to watch a scary movie (on freaking Halloween!!) more power to you.

P.S. O Henry's rule.

You should have told the mother "If you think that's bad, wait till you see the surprises I put in the kids' candy!" and then left the door open, while you ran about in your living room screaming like a lunatic ala Homer Simpson.

And also... Bob, I can't help seeing your name without wondering if you've got bitch tits.

Hey there JurassicMik, no worries man...you were in the right. If that were to have happened to me I would have just stared at the lady, then look down at her child and say "mommy said she wished you were never born...oooops!" then slam the door on their faces. But that's just me :D

You should be ashamed. Watching a horror movie on Halloween. What were you thinking? I mean, seriously, didn't it even cross your mind that children could see something that represents Halloween on your tv screen? THINK OF THE CHILDREN! OH, PLEASE WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

Gimme a break! I won't even dignify the lady's absurd reaction with a comment because I've lost hope on mankind. It's people like her who don't deserve to breed. Shielding her children of horror on a day that celebrates it! I mean, did she scowl everyone who had a "demonic" costume in case her precious children might see it? Does she do anything else but live through her children because her life suddenly seemed to end when she gave birth? I just don't understand people anymore. Why live when your only goal is to procreate and then do nothing with the rest of your life? Is that all that life really has to offer? A house with children in it? There is a huge world out there waiting to be seen, to be experienced. Different people, different cultures. Different fauna, different climate. Why seclude yourself to this so-called "american dream" when life in the culmination of your experience. I sure as heck don't want to spend the rest of my life working a 9 to 5 job, pumping out children regularly to please my wife who has nothing left to live for but the image of her own lost childhood. I maybe going off an a tangent here, but for god's sake, there is so much out there to see, then to imprison and shield yourself with what will is slowly eating away at the earth.

Ugh, sorry for getting off the subject there. You should have just told her that she can't shield her children from everything. Sooner or later, they will be exposed to everything she fears.

You were in the right. It's your fucking house and you can do as you please in it.

Reminds me of that scene in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo when the girlscouts see Deuce is watching porn when they come to the door.

At this point I'd just like to have a copy of George Carlin's rant about our "Child obsessed culture" and just paste it when things like this come up.

You should have told the woman "That's nothing compared to what your kids will be doing behind your back 8 years from now."

Then shut the door, with a big grin on your face:D

Eh. Fuck the children. If I were you I would've had a much harsher reaction to this "angelic humanitarian" perched atop her high horse. News flash, bitch: the world isn't filled with rainbows, pots of gold, magical singing honey bees, enchanted meadows, dancing fairies and happy endings. Sorry, but most people don't live in a Disney flick.

I'm sick of this shit. If she thinks kids will become homicidal and worship Satan because of a brief glimpse of a running demon, you really have to wonder how mentally stable they were to begin with.

Man. Some people make me want to gouge my eyes out.

I would have kneeled down and said to the kids "Aww, you're so cute..so tell me, why do you have the mailman's eyes?"

Geez, this lady would really have freaked if she'd seen what my kids were watching with me (The Evil Dead) heheeh

Well, i was at a friends house on Halloween, i live in a university neighbourhood, but we still had candy ready to give to kids, and a bunch of kids showed up. At one point my friend had the playboy channel on and a kid came to the door, and since i was the closest to the door i opened it up and handed out candy, meanwhile my buddy has the volume cranked up while watching '7 lives exposed' hahahaha

the kids couldnt have been any older than 10, but their mother was waiting down the steps at the street, and the kids were quite curious to see what was on the tv causing all that noise, i let them look in and they ran off, no joke.

when the mother asked what caused them to run i just told her my friend had a scary mask on.

oh kids.

She sounds like a slut. Honestly, who the hell turns down their TV or pauses it when the doorbell rings, just in case it's some asshole kids looking for handouts. I sure as hell don't. I hate trick or treaters, and I hate their parents. They just go knocking on creepy old men's houses asking for sweeties, don't they realise the old men are supposed to come looking for the kids?

And I'm sure she had her precious child dressed up like a demon with makeup and whatever, exposing her kid to the idea of Satanism and the world of occult, but then screaming PRO-CENSORSHIP whenever there's a movie on that she doesn't like. How about fuck off.

I think you showed great restraint, the woman deserved to be eaten. I probably would have told her to hang on for a minute, gone back inside and got my brother to take a picture of me giving the finger, and given the picture to her. "Come back next year, you twat". *SLAM*

Zombie, your rant was long and ... interesting. But right. As a woman saying that, I wish more people agreed with you.

But anyway...

The nerve of the woman, I dont know. When you walk up to a persons house to get free food, you have to realize they're house is going to be set up their way, God forbid. They can do whatever they want in their own house.

If she was so pissed, she shouldn't have taken the candy.

Thanks. It's great to know that my thoughts don't go without notice, and I truly appreciate the comment. I'm also glad to hear that as a woman, you took no offense in it as many others have before you.

Horror movies may be the devil's work, but hypocrisy is evidently not lost on her.

LOL That was hysterical.

As for the above statement, people are just too sensitive. I am surrounded my others like that who can't be reasoned with simply because they listen to only what they want to hear, and choose to be insulted by that. So don't let it bother you. Hard to have a different opinion in today's world.
