View Full Version : Taking your time when posting...

in doing my new thread in the DVD forum, i have noticed that by the time i finish putting in all the prices from the ad's of Best Buy and Circuit City. When i go to post it (after taking like 15 minutes to get all the deals listed) it takes me to a place that says im not logged in, when i log in, it says i havnt selected a forum to post in. Which means i have to go back and totally repost all the stuff i just spent 15-20 minutes posting.

Is this just my puter? or is it a problem some of you other schmoes have had? Like if you start posting, than maybe you go to eat dinner, when you come back you finish your post but it wont let you because it says your not logged in or what not?

Sounds to me like a problem on your end. Maybe you could try another web browser.

The only sure-fire advice I can give you is to copy your post before you go to post - that way, is you have to start from scratch, you can just paste in the earlier post.

ya.. i did that after the first 2 times ( i know i know, i am a very quick thinker!)

I believe that there is a 20 or 30 minute delay on the board itself....i.e. if you're writing your post for over 20 minutes, it doesn't work. Same goes for the maximum of words used in a post, which I believe is 10,000 or something....

I've had a similar problem in the past, but usually it asks me to log in, then I just hit the back icon on my screen a few times till I get back to my would-be post, then post it from there. Usually works like a charm

If you think that your upcoming post is going to be an especially long one the best advice that I can give is to type the post in a program such as MS Word, save it, and then you can feel free to post it at your leisure without having to worry about th internet or site not working. You'll also get the added advantage of having your post marked for spelling and/or grammatical errors.

ya.. now all i do is post.. than copy my post and just go back and do the reply process again. Escept this time i have the post already done! Thanks for all the replys though.
