Ok, first off, i know that The Temple of Doom is accually a prequal, but its a sequal to the production of Raiders...
So, which one is your favorite? I loved Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade more, infact i think it is just as good and fun as Raiders of the Lost Arc.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was a brave film as far as its subject material, but it doesn't cross over where it is stuck at; popcorn fun. I think Crusades has a whole lot more emotion, drama and suspence and well as purpose (the grail in the hands of Nazi's can do a whole lot more damage to the world than Indians with rocks). Plus, there are plot elements that i think work better for Crusades, like nazis, a Religous relic, Sallah and Marcus, an independant woman, a personal objective (hes after his dad, not really the grail) and some others...
Don't get me wrong, i still love The Temple of Doom, its just my least favorite of the series.
All in all
Raiders of the Lost Arc ****
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom ***1/2
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ****

RAIDERS is definitely the best of the trilogy, but of the sequels, THE LAST CRUSADE is the most fun and exciting.

The Whole Trilogy is great. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is my 3rd favorite movie ever, but I think "Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom" is the best sequal..

i think the last crusade might be my favorite movie of the entire series, even more than raiders.

The Last Crusade is my favorite of the three. It was a lot more fun than Temple of Doom, and didn't haunt me during my childhood like ToD did. Not to mention the genius idea of Sean Connery as Indy's dad

Temple is tied with Raiders, while Last Crusade is a bit too campy for me. I know it's an Indiana Jones movie, but it just seemed a little too "popcorn flick"for me.

In terms of all round enjoyment, Temple of Doom is my pick. The diving out of the plane in a raft and the mine cart scenes are fantastic!
When i first watched it. I was so scared of someone pulling out my heart!
Every time i got to a Indian resturant i think of the banquet at Pangkok Palace.

1. Temple of Doom
2. Raider
3. Last Crusade

Raiders, definitely. Marion was such a great match for Indy. Thats his philosophy I believe: If she can slug him, he's in love.

Temple of Doom is definately my favorite out of the three, although it beats out the others merely by a hair because I love the trilogy as a whole. However, since I "must choose, but choose wisely", Temple of Doom is my absolute favorite out of the trilogy for mainly one of the reasons APzombie: it was a brave film. It took alot of guts to take the series in a completely different direction, with a much darker premise, and still make it feel like an Indiana Jones adventure. Most critics consider it the worse of the series, heck it even spawned the PG-13 rating. But as for myself, it is a nostalgic time piece with a great location (India as well as Shanghai in the beginning), great characters (Short Round, and yes I absolutely loved the diva Willie Scott; it made way for great situational comedy), the ultimate villain (Mola Ram) and a great opening musical sequence. Oh, and who can forget the original Fear Factor. I'll admit, that some parts are questionable... Like why didn't they rip out Willie's heart? Or how mine carts suddenly become a roller-coaster ride. But... who cares, it was a great sequence, it was original and I loved every minute of it, from the bug-infested hallways, to the suspended bridge at the end; from the downhill rafting ride, to Mola Ram headquarters. Oh and I guess I forgot to mention that it was the first film in the series that I saw when I was a kid, and that it stuck with me ever since. Yeah, he didn't save the world from nazis, but he saved India's farmlands from an evil Kali-worshipping cult, and that's perfectly fine with me.

The Last Crusade
And it's also my favorite of the trilogy.

Raiders is one of my favorite all time movies. I dont think either of the sequels come close. But Temple of Doom is almost laughably bad. Crusade is fun, but not to the level of Raiders.

Its great to see the wide variety of opinion! It only means that the trilogy as a whole kicks more arse!
I agree with the majority: It goes down like this
1. Raiders
2. Last Crusade
3. Temple of Doom

I never was a big fan of Temple of Doom, particularly the kid. Very, very annoying. The Last Crusade on the other hand, has Sean Connery...

THE LAST CRUSADE, mostly because Kate Capshaw is such an annoying twat in THE TEMPLE OF DOOM
Stupid ass Chinese kid shouldn't have prevented Indy from letting her be burned to death.

I'm with those who like Last Crusade the most out of the whole trilogy. It seems to carry the most weight, because not only is Indy saving the world, he's saving his father. Not to mention it has all the elements of Indy's past including the opening sequence as well as Connery as Dr. Jones Sr. Elsa also makes a much more interesting love interest. The final scenes are just so amazing. Raiders is also really good, but has never enthralled me as much as Last Crusade does. Temple of Doom I also like, but it is not as good. As mentioned, Kate Capshaw's character is a bit on the annoying side and I just don't like the setting or the story as well. Still a good film. Both Last Crusade and Raiders are in my top 20 or all time.
1. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (10/10 or A+ and my #13)
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark (10/10 or A+ and my#18)
3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (8/10 or A-)

I thought Temple of Doom was awful.
My favorite sequal is definately The Last Crusade! A million times better than the trainwreck that is Temple of Doom.
Though Raiders is CLEARLY the best one.

Last Crusade by far. It was more entertaining, more ingenious and better directed. And Sean was great. It's almost at the level of Raiders IMO.
Not that Temple is bad, but it has boring moments, something that no other Indy movie has had.

ToD - 7.5/10

Raiders of the Lost Ark 10/10
Temple of Doom 7/10
The Last Crusade 10/10
The Last Crusade is not only the best sequel, but the best in the series IMO.
If I had to pick my favorite Indy film, it would be Last Crusade.
Having said that, love them or hate them, both the Temple of Doom & Last Crusade succeeded in being different films from Raiders. True, Last Crusade's tone is similar to Raiders, but the great scenes between Harrison Ford & Sean Connery not to mention the direction taken with the female lead make Last Crusade a different film in its own right.
In recent years, however, I've heard strong, reasonable arguments from different people about why each of the 3 Indy films could be considered the best(Look at the editorial for the Indy DVD's on Amazon.com & you'll see precisely what I mean).

My favorite is RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.
But my favorite sequel that comes as close to greatness as the original is THE LAST CRUSADE

Of course, Raiders is the best of the whole trilogy, but The Last Crusade is a worthy sequel. I enjoyed TOD very much, too. The Indy movies are all just so great.
By far my favorite of the trilogy is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. This is not to slight the rest, which I love dearly, but The Last Crusade, as DannyWaker said, holds more weight with its superbly developed characters. It also has more memorable dialogue and the tank chase has got to be my favorite action sequence of the whole trilogy.
The Last Crusade-10/10
Raiders of the Lost Ark-9.5/10
Temple of Doom-9/10

The Temple of Doom was absolute crap. 3/10. The story was awful, the acting hokey, the monkey brain bowl things sucked. I was really upset by how poorly made this film was.
Meanwhile, the Last Crusade had good acting, amazing action sequences (esp. the one with River Phoenix) and a fairly cohesive storyline. 8/10

The Temple of Doom. Mostly because I remeber how much fun it was at the theater. I like the fact that it is darker than the other 2.
