Now that's a good teaser trailer! Ever since I heard the concept, I've been pumped for this film, and that awesome trailer just increased my urge for it.

Saw it on Access Hollywood last night and indeed, it was pretty cool.

Yeah, that's a truly great teaser. Not suprising, since Godzilla and ID4 had great teasers as well. Unfortunately the script reviews have been really weak.

Thought it was a great teaser until it said "From the director of INDEPENDENCE DAY".

I guess we can only pray that it's better than that movie.

Wow. This is an amazing trailer. It already was a must see film for me for 2004, but now I'll definately try to catch it opening day. I absolutely love the tagline "Where will you be?"

One thing I didn't like was the way that they simply threw on "From the director of Independance Day" at the end. I have nothing against that film, which I enjoyed immensely, but this line just seemed out of place.

I agree. It was amazingly done and the special effects were unbelieveable. Jaw Dropping at times. But of course, we have to also hope for the best, because though the story LOOKS promising, the finishing product may come out looking like the CORE if not done right. We all remember the CORE right??? Or maybe not... It wasn't even memorable enough to think about.

This was actually one of the few big, just popcorn flicks that i was looking forward to in 2004...i have a slight fondness for disaster movies (i think it's leftover from the years when i followed whatever my dad watched [stuff like python, komodo (shiver), etc...]...in any case, this teaser just changed my whole perspective...perhaps it might not be "just" a big, popcorn flick after all...what an AMAZING teaser...i love that end shot of the city...WOW!

even if the movie sucks, this is definitely one of the best teasers/trailers i've seen in the past couple years...

Looks awesome, reminds me a little of Deep Impact with the wall of water hitting the city, but this looks better. Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal shouldn't disappoint. Very interested in this one.

Well this teaser is an EYE opener. I am suprised no tag line of "Kiss Your Ass Goodbye" was not mentioned because well something like this could happen someday. When is not known.

Hey, I just saw this one too. Looks incredible. CGI done right, can really make a film look great! I'm sooo there!

Jaw dropping

That is all I can really say. The shot of the birds flying and the humongous twister covering a bunch of LA after the guy says "This is massive" looked incredibly real.

AMAZING teaser. I saw it in front of Revolutions tonight and it was quite awesome, especially the last show. Yikes, this better not disappoint with a trailer like that.

Saw the trailer at Revolutions tonight also. Looks cool to me. Hell, I like Independance Day so I'll probably like this one too. Pop the corn and I'm there!

Saw the trailer 100 times. The Special Effect looks awesome, cant wait to see it. I hope its not like Godzilla, which was a horrible movie.

I cant sit through these types of movies without being very paranoid and depressed of world destruction. This kinda reminds me of Deep Impact with Elijah Woods and LeeLee Sobeski.

Well im gonna give it a try.

Its just basically every bad disaster movie COMBINED.

Although that image of the ocean around NYC covered snow was pretty neato....

That teaser seriously freaked me out, cause it looked so realistic, and it seems like something that could happen. I'm seriously shocked after seeing this, and scared to death, LOL :p

...and, like Jo mentioned...I'm interested in how a post-9/11 America can deal w/ this film.

I hope it does great! It looks stunning

The trailer is amazing. I'm definitely interested in this movie.

By the way those Independance Day guys may not write the best dialogue but I gotta hand it to them: When it comes to destroying the world they got some skillz!

Go for what ya know I guess...

Great trailer. But it's from Roland Emmerich. Director of Independence Day and Godzilla. Which also had great trailers. And then they sucked donkey balls. So this one will most likely suck as well. We'll see.

I think it looks excellent , but i agree , i've been burned by great looking trailers before . I have no doubt it will look and sound amazing , just hope the narrative is at least somewhat interesting . I hope all the good scenes aren't in the beggining , and then the characters just roam around the rest of the movie , that would get boring pretty fast .

That last shot in the trailer of a snow covered NYC looks like it's a combo of CGI , miniatures , and matte paintings . It looks very good . But , i don't want to get all crazy , almost everything looks good on the big screen , so i'm not getting my hopes up . Plus , i don't like the cast , Gylenballs and Quaid , not doing it for me .

Oh yeah , Godzilla 98 is one of my favorite sci fi / action / monster run amok films . It's one of the most expensive b movies ever made , and the fx are still some of the best ever created for this type of film , so i don't have a problem with the man who is directing this .

I dunno if audiences are in the mood for a disaster flick after THE CORE bombed so badly, but by the looks of the DAY AFTER TOMORROW teaser, the flick might pull in a nice gross. Plus, the film ought to be interesting, since it doesn't seem to be about stopping the disasters and more about what goes on after they take their toll. An interesting angle that I hope the filmmakers play to its fullest.

You may be right but The Core never looked very good in its trailers and then it was really bad, so it got bad word of mouth. In this case, the trailer is freaking AMAZING, and the film will probably at least be decent and hopefully good, so it should do well. Also The Core involved a shuttle crash and it was right after the Columbia disaster, so that contributed to its bombing as well.

I agree with you that it looks as if it will focus more on the aftermath. That's what the title would suggest. If it can be a very human story like Deep Impact but have a different aspect in that it isn't about stopping the disaster, it could be a really quality film.

This movie has best visual effects oscar written all over it.

Not completely likely, as it has a May release date, and the Academy is notorious for having a short memory.

I think this movie will be just the cats ass if its the emmerich that did stargate and id4, but i hope it isn't the emmerich that did godzilla, i dont think thats the case cuz the trailer was simply amazing and with Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal the acting aspect is all there and i think this could do over 200 million easy here in the states no problem. We'll hafta wait and see on memorial day

Do you guys still trust this idiot Emmerich after that hollywood "re-imagination" of Godzilla? What about "Braveheart 2: Independence Day" with Mel Gibson? Jesus

Aside from Godzilla I've liked every movie he's made. So, for me his name being attached adds excitement.

This movie looks like somebody read Al Gore's book on the environment and thought it would make a great movie. And it might -- Gore's book is a remarkable work of fiction.

Still, the whole "Earth is destroyed by man's folly" thing is getting a trifle tired... and yet, I can't wait to see widespread destruction on a global scale. Am I a bad person?
