Just saw this on Dark Horizons (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news.htm):

Predator (DVD): 20th Century FOX Home Video is bringing out a special 2-disc edition of the action classics. It will be re-released with a 16x9 Enhanced Widescreen Print, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 sound. "Predator" also includes an audio commentary with Director John McTiernan, text commentary, a 30-minute documentary, seven featurettes on the film's making, a deleted scene entitled "Arnold fleeing Predator", outtakes, a look at the "red-suit" special effects, still gallery, and finally Predator profile & Camouflage Tests.

Unfortunately, there was no mention of a release date. Nevertheless, after the sub-par (read: crappy) release of Predator DVD last time, this truly sounds cool, does it not? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/cool.gif

Thanks for the information 'Weapon X.' I've been complaining for some time that there should be a "Predator" special edition, and now my complaints have been finally answered!

It also says in the same article that Fox is bringing out a Special Edition of Speed. It says they've only been announced for Region 2. So we Brits may get it first. Yay!

I've held off on "Speed" in hopes of a Special Edition (I think it'll be a Five-Star Collection release), and we'll finally be getting it. Yeah!

About "Predator," it looks like I'll have to buy that again. I bought the DTS edition earlier this year, but will definitely be buying this when it comes out.

According to digitalbits, since fox has already released 2 versions of the film in R1 they are going to wait and see if it sells better than expected internationally before releasing it in good old Region 1. So won't wouldn't expect it till 2004 or release that, PREDATOR 2 and re-release a new and improved ALIEN LEGACY that will go along with the release of the AvP movie that should come out eventually. This is just what I think though.

I've had that version of Predator for a few months now, funny how for a change R2 comes before R1.

It's a good set, I'd recommend it.

Just a little question, wot Region does the PS2 have for DVD's. Is it Region 2 or 1?

If you got your PS2 in the UK then it's R2 but there is a disc called region-X for the PS2 which allows you to code memory cards to make the player different regions.
