2.Pelè
3.Johann Cruyiff
4.Marco Van Basten (the swan from Utrecht - utter genius)
5.Franco Baresi (just spectacular)
6.Franz Beckenbauer
7.Ferenc Puskas
8.Alfredo Di Stefano
9.Michel Platini
10.George Best

FAVORITE:
1.Franco Baresi
2.Marco Van Basten

Of course, Baresi was superb. Gascoigne selection a major surprise to me, Paul- and yes, WE know it's football, but if i'd asked for 10 greatest football players, there would have been lists with Joe Montana, Lawrence Taylor et al.. I'll leave that to the experts.

I'll just do favourites and give reasons.

1) George Best (best natural ability)
2) Pele (best of all-time)
3) Ray Wilkins (best passer of a football EVER - it's not always about who can scissor-kick a goal from the halfway line - the guy could pass to an ant)
4) David Cooper (best left foot to grace the field)
5) Matthew LeTissier (best natural goal-scorer)
6) Kenny Samson (best English defender EVER)
7) David Beckham (best dead-ball expert)
8) Kenny Dalglish (best Scottish player EVER)
9) Maradona (duh!)
10) Rossi (best player to watch in action)

Personally...

1. GLENN HODDLE
2. MARADONNA
3. PELE
4. PAUL GASCOINGE
5. GEORGE BEST
6. MICHEL PLATINI
7. JOHAN CRUYFF
8. BOBBY CHARLTON
9. ZINEDINE ZIDANE
10. FRANZ BECKANBUER

Of course most I've not seen in person playing. Glenn Hoddle was the genuine article for me. Best player I've ever seen, great work rate, brains, passing, skill, shooting...shit he had it all.

Shite manager though!

1. Pelé
2. Zinedine Zidane
3. Johann Cruyff
4. Michel Platini
5. Franz Beckenbauer
6. Franco Baresi
7. David Beckham
8. Glenn Hoddle
9. Eric Cantona
10. Diego Maradona

No big fan of Maradona's. Don't know why, just don't think the guy is (or rather was) better than the 9 I listed before him.
