This thread isn't about if Harrison will be playing Indiana (He will) but if you think he is still up to it. Do you think he is too old? POst your thoughts here.

I think Harrison Ford is still great. He is definantly capable IMO.

He's been doing enough movies to keep in shape, plus it's not like he hasn't done any action movies sine Indiana pt. 3.

He's ancient for the role, but for a 60-year old (or close to that), he's in great shape.
So I think he's capable.

He may be sixty, but he could whip my butt. Yes, he will still be fine as Indy!

I think he is up for the role. He is in very good shape.

Well Indy's always been a rough and tumble guy as opposed to a lean and efficient super man so Harrison's age might just play into the character.
He for sure can do it!

Ohhhh yes, i am sure he still has one last crack of the whip left in him.

As far as the character goes, he will always be able to play Indiana, if the fourth doesn't overdue what a 60 year old body can do in the face of danger, it will seem a little more camp, but the series is all about camp, so im for it.

I'm pretty sure the make-up effects people can tone him down to an Indiana Jones in his fifties (rather than his actual age), and I'm sure he's still up for the role. Besides, alot of the action in the previous three were done by stunt men. So, to answer your question, I still believe in Harrison Ford.

Of course Mr Ford can still play Indy. Still in great shape for a sixty year old.

I don't think Harrison Ford is too old to play Indiana once again. However I do believe that it all depends whether his character has aged in Indy 4. I mean it would not be wise to put Indy back in the 40's, but considering that Frank Darabont is writing Indy 4 I'm fully convinced that it will work out allright and that Harrison's wrinkles will get a fullfilling place in the final product.

Fucking hell yes!! I believe his age will be the source for some comic relief in the 4th film. I can't wait!

I agree with what everyone has said here...As long as they don't put Indy in the WW2 setting, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Indy couldn’t age because he drank out of the Holy Grail, which made him immortal.

I think the effects are negated when you cross the great seal (the design on the floor of the temple, is that what they called it?)

It will be a sad day when Ford is too old to play Indy. He's one of those characters you can never recast...EVER!

The guy is Indy. I wouldn't care if he was 80-years-old, I wouldn't want anyone else put Ford. But yeah, he's still got it, no doubt in my mind.

The question shouldn't be if Ford can still pull off Indy (which I believe he can as long as they make light of the fact he's getting old and don't ignore it), the question should be whether George "I can trash/re-edit my own films as much as I see fit" Lucas and Steven "better digitise out all the guns for the kiddies" Spielberg should be allowed to sully yet another great film saga embossed with the familiar tinge of passionate nostalgia.

That's twice I quote you today. Though it's not intentional, you bring up a good point. I also am really curious as to whether or not after all these years, they can pull off the same thing they did with the three other films. You can watch all three Indiana Jones movies one after another and feel like you're watching one big movie; they all have the same feel. Which is why I'm curious as to whether or not they can do the same thing. It's like a double-edged sword... on one side, I would really like to see Indy go for another round, but on the other side, I don't want this "other round" to ruin the previous three. I dunno if y'all get what I'm sayin'... :D

I hear you.
Let me abbreviate for ya.
I'd rather they just not bother if it's gonna be shit really.

I think Ford is still in good enough shape to play Indy. But this will probably be the last film he plays Indy.

Yeah, I think he can. I mean, I know he's not going to be the young, lively Indy we've seen before. But I think an adventure with an older, wise Indiana could be fun.

I'll be suprised if Ford mirrors what Danny Glover says in the Lethal Weapon movies.

Well just last year he was doing a bunch of action scenes, stunts and running around in last year's underrated Hollywood Homicide. So that in itself is proof that he still has what it takes to play Indy.

he has come a long way from being a carpenter on the star wars set back in the 70's.

Ooooooo.......I can not wait to see the next one!!
I think Harrison still has it!! It will be like riding a bike
for him since he still has the character.
Look at Swartzenegger......he made the last Terminator
just like the previous ones, and he did a great job!!
Harrison will have one last movie portraying Indiana
and I think he will do just fine!! :D
