Alright I know this is a stupid and embarrasing question, but my bigger TV went out. Since then I have been using a cheap small TV (not too small, mind you) temporarily. Im wanting to save up for a nice set instead of just buying something outright (what I can afford now is zip)

The TV has a built in VCR. I have watched countless VHS tapes on this VCR, as well as another VCR hooked to it.

However, most DVDs wont play due to SOUND. Wierd. The sound does this loud brrrrrr thing over everything else and keeps coming in and doing this, not necessarily continuous. The picture and everything else is fine.

And another strange thing. Near Dark with superior sound, and several other DVDs DO play fine in sound....I'd say 80% of my DVDs will not play. But the ones that do arent necessarily bad transfers or anything, so this is a complete mystery to me.

I dont know diddly squat about sound systems (obviously). Just learning all this jargon. But I matched some of the options from the DVDs that work to the ones that don't and no difference as far as I can tell.

Only thing I have noticed (this is strange and doesn't make sense) is the fullscreen and the fullscreen/widescreens seem to work more...the widescreens are the ones that seem to have the sound problems, although the picture comes in clear.

I have always been convinced I have an electronic curse on me. I could relate problems to give others nightmares. :)

Have any clue?? Anyone???
