I hated that fact that there was never any of Tim Burton's darkness in B&R. It was way too family-friendly IMO.

It's not as bad as some make it out to be, in my opinion. It has decent special-effects, some wonderfully-hammy performances, and cool music. Nothing great, but a fun, and underrated, popcorn film.

While, in my eyes, Batman Forever was the best live action Batman movie, I believe that Batman and Robin was the biggest equivalent I could find to being cinematically raped up the ass by the director. It's so awful, so boring, and so hammy that there's no way I can see how someone can enjoy it (no offense intended to those who did). When the main villain makes 47 Mr. Freeze puns, you know a trainwreck is coming. And a trainwreck is what ensued

Batman was good. Batman 2 was good. Batman Forever was a safe film, but still good (Nicole is SO hot!) and Batman Forever? Well it was OK. Some good moments, and George Clooney was good as batman.

Actually, the order of the films goes:

1) Batman (Keaton)
2) Batman Returns (Keaton)
3) Batman Forever (Kilmer)
4) Batman & Robin (Clooney)

But I knew what you meant. Anyway, Batman & Robin was rather atrocious. Gotham needs to look more gritty and real. The city was way too bright and stylized.

I agree with pretty much everyone else, this movie sucked. Sad thing is, I actually saw in in theatres, with several members of my family.

I find it amazing that they took away the classic Batman score from the Burton films and created a new theme song for Forever and Batman & Robin... I find it even more amazing that the newer score isn't half bad! It didn't hold up to the original as far as getting the Batman mood in, but it was a plesently campy theme. I figure Danny Elfman would have been pissed if they used his music without him scoring the film...

As for Batman & Robin, yea, it is definately my least favorite Batman film by 10, but i think that if they took away the names of the characters and Gotham, and replaced it all with other comic inspired heroy names (ala Darkman) than it might have made way to semi-cult status.

Batman and Robin was so bad it made me cry. Now, Burton made the first two what they are today, and the third survives because he Produced it, but lacks because he didn't direct it. But after Burton bailed, it lost all it's spooky charm. I figure they showed Burton the script, he blinked, threw it away, said "I'm taking my ball and leaving," and stormed out of the studio followed closely by a fuming Elfman. Carrying a red ball, of course.

In fact, I think I'll buy a plot at Cave Hill cemetary and put up a tombstone that says, "Here lies the Batman franchise, was once brilliant, but now just plain crappy! Rest in Peice."

I hated this film. It's an overbudgeted piece of crap that should have been burned. A true blunder in the great world of Batman.

I enjoyed Batman and Robin better then Batman Forever.

1. Batman Returns- 9
2. Batman- 8.8
3. Batman and Robin- 8
4. Batman Forever- 7

I own all of these movies. I am looking foward to Catwoman and Batman 5.

I don't think "Batman and Robin" was one of the worst films of all time (like so many people called it), but the thiong is that compared to the first 2 (or even three for that matter) it was pretty bad. The first two "Batman" 's brought a darker, cooler element to the Batman franchise. The third was pretty good too, probably because Tim Burton still had some kind of creative input in it (he produced it). Batman and Robin wouldn't be that bad, honestly, if it was the only film in the series (save for Mr. Freeze's totally annoying one-liners, all relating to coldness :"Cool off!" or "Chill" ugh!).

I still haven't been able to watch Batman and Robin from start to finish to this day.

It makes me too angry.

Forever pretty much blew IMO as well.
