The teaser trailer for "The Polar Express" is available at www.apple.com/trailers Go get it, and write what you think.
Personally, this is definitely a movie to be anticipating. The atmosphere of Christmas is amazing, the the animation is something very different. This is something that has never been done before. Of course, coming from Zemeckis, who would expect anything else. It's also worth mentioning that it says he is co-writing the script. He hasn't written/co-written anything since the Back to the Future series. So, obviously he's taking full control of this film, which is a good thing.

It is amazing. I thought next Christmas would seem empty without a Lord of the Rings movie, but I now have a film I am eagerly awaiting for next year's Christmas season.

I love the book and I'm really looking forward to it, but I kinda wish it wasn't animated.
***1/2 of **** for the trailer.

Looks awesome, I also sorta wanted it to be live, but with brilliant special effects and whatnot, but this still looks god damn great. This is definetly winner of best animated film for the 2004 oscars. The films budget is 150 million, crazy...but I can see them getting it back, its a xmas story, gonna be released around xmas and it has the "pixar" appeal....and Tom Hanks name will definatly bring in the cash.

really cool trailer, and something I am really
looking forward to. Did anyone notice
how uncanny the resemblance
the Train Conducter, and Tom Hanks was?

I thought it was suppose to be live action. I guess not.

I believe they said they used a kind of live action capturing or something where they have the actor act it out, and then it's turned into animation or something along the lines...(i'm probably not using the right technical terms but..) i think it's something like what they did with gollum in lotr, but just used for an entirely different purpose.

It looks decent, but I really wish they hadn't've done it all with animation.

Looks terrific! I remember my teacher read that to me when i was real young, it was like a dream, like an imaginative dream. Hopefully this portays it in that way, and it looks as if it might. Plus i like Robert Zemeckis.

This trailer didn't do much for me. I don't like it animated either. They are definetely shooting for the Best Animated Oscar.

I didn't really buy it. Plus they seemed like they wanted to floor everybody...BY SHOWING THEM A GIGANTIC TRAIN! Not that exciting. I'll have to wait for the full trailer.
To Lynn: I don't think they tried to floored everybody by showing a gigantic train. I think this is more like "teasing" us with the new animation style this movie has been made. I personally haven't seen anything like it, and the 'teasing' is working over here. Can't wait.

I think they shot it live. Then did some animating over it. Am I wrong?

Nope you're not wrong. That's exactly what they did. They shot the movie as if it was a normal film and then later the animators "painted" (or whatever its called on computers) over the images. I think it looks great and feel its a good idea that its animated. If it was a live action film with fancy f/x, more likely than not people would be complaining that the cgi looked too fake or animated anyways. I LOVED the book as a child so I'm definately looking foward to this.

The CGI looks horrible. Trying to make it photorealistic is a huge mistake; it never works and gets extremely distracting. They should have had it stylized. Plus, both the score and Tom Hanks voice work are awful.
Robert Zemeckis has some (little) talent, maybe he should be using it shooting live-action and live animation for the experts, eh? Jesus

I unfortunately have to agree, im still looking forward to the film, but the cgi looked like a Veggie Tale video. Not to mention Tom's arm when he says "This is the Polar Express!", it was not very smooth and looked rather blocky...
Still looking forward to it.

I don't see how they can make this into a ful length movie...

Didn't he direct WFRR?

I was never a fan of the whole show- a- scene- from- a -movie- as- a- trailer- thing. But I'll admit, this film looks pretty damn great.

The teaser is horrible and the movie looks terrible. People likely won't pay to see an animated Tom Hanks unless it's a Toy Story film. I hope this bombs and Hanks and Zemeckis get back to making real movies.

Is Tom Hanks voicing every single character in this movie or what?

why oh why is this animated....
i believe animation takes away from the story personally....
i believe if road to el dorado, titan a.e., and sinbad were all live action they would have done three times as better...
since they all practically fluked...
and i would have bothered to pay attention more when i watched them...
animation is a cheap way to go...

I really would have preferred a live-action film. The animation looks very different from other CGI type films but I still think a live-action film would have been great. Meh, Tom Hanks is Tom Hanks

Its looks good. I mean this is a Robert Zemeckis film...starring Tom Hanks! The two rarely disappoint.
