I SWEAR to you I am not making this up! I wish I were... if you don't believe me go to imdb.com and see for yourself. It's the first movie told from the point of view of Timon and Pumbaa. I guess it explains what they were up to before they met Simba. WHEN WILL IT END!!!!????????

Yeah, it's also featured on the new Lion King DVD and is scheduled to be a direct-to-video/DVD release.

Sweet Jebus.

Disney just happily and shamelessly love to rape their back catalogue don't they?!?!?

Actually, the movie is not on THE LION KING: PLATINUM EDITION. That is just the trailer. The movie will be released January 2004 in a two-disc set that includes tons of bonus stuff.

Also, move this to the DVD forum!

I'm so looking forward to see this! I can't wait! It's my most anticipated film of the next ten years!! I'm such a fan of Dysney I could do just ANYTHING to be the first in seeing this!!! I'll be watching The Little Mermaid and The beauty & The Beast three times every day until the day this one will be released, to make up my mind to the intrinsec greatness of this idea! Just a side note: please, add more songs, pleaseeeeeeee!!!

BUMP

I saw an ad for this on t.v. they appear in the stampede scene! That was a very serious(and scary) moment in the first film and now they're making light of it? DAMN!

I heard that back when Eisner was first starting out at Disney he had planned to kill the animation department 'cause he was used to doing live action films. The Disney company(or at least the animation department) may be coming to an end. It doesn't look good.

I only like two Eisner Disney films Eporoer's (sp?) New Groove and Tarzan.

For another pointless sequel see Hunchback 2 and Cinderella 2.

The animation on this looks much better then the usual home-video fare at least.

Good lord...

I am going to commit myself to a mental institution if I let this manufactured "kiss-my-ass-you-stupid-audience" product (I refuse to call it a movie!) have a fucking DOLLAR of my money.

EISNER MUST DIE!

Or at least retire. As soon as fucking possible. Please.

The only thing that makes this worth even thinking about is Nathan Lane returning as the voice of Timon.

Looks pretty funny now that ive seen the commercial to it.

It looks like more of a side-comedy then another TRUE installment.
Thats the way it looks like it was marketed anyway.

Agreed.

I just wish there was some way to bribe my local theatre into showing this on the big screen.

Just saw it and i gotta say it surprised me!

The animation is nearly equal to the original and it doesnt outstay its welcome.

It succeeded in being a funny side story with some tender moments, perfect rental fare or purchase material for those who like the original.

I would give this a rock solid 7/10.

It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be and my kids (the REAL target audience of this movie) loved it. The DVD is also packed to the gills with stuff. This direct ro DVD features as more features and extras than some blockbusters...

Targeted at kids, but actually a very funny movie, In have a kiddie sense on humor for some movies, I laughed alot in this movie.

It is pretty funny. The whole concept of having them play behind the scenes roles in the original lion king is quite creative. I enjoyed it.

7/10

I loved this movie a good 9/10 it was prettyfunny and cool.

*spoilers*

My favorite part is when Timon and Pumba find a place to sleep in a cave and all of a sudden they are woken up by Simbas musical number "Just cant wait to be king" and when they come out of the cave the landscape has changed to a beautiful and colorful music video like in the first movie. Timons like "Oh great we moved to the theater district" and then they trip up Simba by accident and you hear him say "Im alright". Cool stuff.

My only beef with the movie is Scar dies totally different.

Yup. Saw it. It was OK. Nowhere near as good as the first, obviously, but second place in the trilogy and ten times better than Lion King 2.

Loved the casting with Julie Kavner as Timon's Mom.

7/10
