At the end it's just so touching...

But i've been near to cry quite often (The Sweet Hereafter, Mulholland Dr, The Truman Show, A Perfect World, etc)

Many. The most, probably, was in "Dancer in the Dark". I also cried in "Matchstick Men", when we discover the final twist (great movie). Most recently was "Blue Velvet", when Isabella's character meets her son again in the end; I don't know why, but I got tear eyed.

Others: The Sacrifice, City Lights, Close Up, etc.

Join the club.

Last time I watched it, other scenes starting getting to me as well. The scene where Frank Whaley has to cross out of the field to help Gaby Hoffman and then Liotta's remark to him afterwards. :( And the last five minutes, forget about it, waterfalls!!!! :p

Don't get me started on Field of Dreams. One of my all-time favorite films.

I'll admitt it I cried at the end of Titanic and most recently in About Schmidt, that is such a sad movie!

Well i just finish watching Monster and let me tell you is one of the saddest movies i ever seen, and it makes it sadder because it was based on a true story. The scene where Aileen says goobye to Shelly got me crying like a baby!

When I saw MY DOG SKIP at 10 or 11 years old (it came out in 2000, I believe), I cried in the theatre for the first (and so far last) time in my life.

I cried a little at 'xXx'. I just couldnt believe I wasted my hard earned money on such a piece of shit film. Same with 'Dickie Roberts'.

Movies that I cried during, because I was actually sad though, are:

Pay it Forward (spoiler - everytime I see it, at the end with him dying and then all the people coming to the house to pay thier respects)
Patch Adams (spoiler - when he is at Monica Potters funeral and cries on the coffin)
Angus (spoiler - when his grandpa dies and then he goes to the park and lays the chess piece down)

There are others, I just cant think of them right now.

The Fox And The Hound- Thee big one, I was watching it one day and my parents came in to find me in tears. Gawd, it was so humiliating.

My Dog Skip- At the cinema, surrounded by little kids who weren't paying attention to the screen. I cried like a baby, the adults in the cinema must have thought it was one of the annoying kids.

Bowling For Columbine- The "what a wonderful world" sequence...'Speaks for itself.

The Magdalene Sisters- Just the opening when SPOILERS (highlight to read):

Rose had her baby taken away from her. I may not like kids but that was truly heart wrenching.

Edward Scissorhands- One of my favouite films which always manages to make me cry.

The Virgin Suicides- Another of my favourite films, the part when they play music down the phone. So touching.

I have cried at many more but I think I've humiliated myself enough for one day.

About three days ago, "Saving Private Ryan."

When it comes to token masculinity and not crying at movies, I fail horribly. Usually at least one movie every year puts me in tears.

Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Fransisco (or something) - I'm a dog person, so the only thing that truly upsets me in a movie is the mistreatment of dogs. When the one dog told its story about its mistrust of humans, I found myself tearing through practicially the rest of the movie and on the way out of the theater when it was over.

I nearly let myself cry after I saw the end of MANON DES SOURCES in my film class a few years back, but I managed to control myself and get by. Probably because the first thing I heard after the film shut off was "THAT FILM SUCKED!"

Braveheart - The ending really got to me.

Schindlers List- I cried about three times during the whole thing!

Dead Man Walking - No matter how evil Sean Penn was, I cried at the end.

Lucas - When the Goonie girl rejected Lucas's kiss I was weeping (this was when I was like 11 years old)

Hope Floats - When the little girl wants to go with her dad and his rejecting her telling her to stay with Sandra Bullock...oh my god that scene made me cry like a magdalena.

Donnie Darko - The talk he has with the shrink about not being alone, damn that got me a little teary eyed.

The movie is:

I only ever cried at 1 movie: Bladerunner. "Time to die"- it just struck me as sad.

I have never "cried" so to say. More teary eyed or lump in throat. I push the crap back as much as possible. Examples(SPOILERS):

Secretary: One of the only times I was like that with joy. Just how she was naked and going on about how she finally felt beautiful was nice. I didn't even care that she was naked. Just a great moment.

Requiem For A Dream: I didn't get teary eyed or anything like the sort. I was sad but I the ending was so powerful it was like being smacked in the face suddenly.

Pumpkin: I don't know why I was sad. I just was. It was the scene where Ricci leaves everything and you see Pumpkin looking for her and they had to tell him that she left.

Rules of Attraction: That bathtub scene. If you've seen it you'll know what I mean.

I hardley cry during movies. I mean it's like I have no soul. But four movies have gotten the better of me.

Now, I never cried when Mufasa died in the Lion King, and I've seen it millions of times. But the last time it got me, but only teary eyed, not weeping.

Edward Scissorhands- when the inventor dies, it's sad because I'm the world's biggest Vincent Price fan and it makes me sad to see him die, and poor Edward too.

Armagedon- I watched it early in the morning, I was sleep deprived, don't judge me.

Man in the Iron mask- it never go to me before, but after I read the Three Musketeers, I got so attached to the characters that the way they killed D'Artagnan mad me sob like he was my lover. To this day I don't understand why.

There has honestly only been one movie that has such such a profound emotional impact on me, and that was Punch-Drunk Love...When I saw it in the theater I was trying as hard as hell to fight back the lump in my throat, and the tears in my eyes...Because guys you know how it's against our nature to let any emotion out...And if we do, we deserve a swift kick to the gnards. But the combination of Sandler's subtle and sad performance and the writing and direction of P.T.Anderson all at once made me realize that someone else out there understands what I personally go through from time to time myself, and has put it up there on screen, and then once Barry starts redeeming himself through the love of Lena, there were small tears streaming down my cheeks. To this day I have watched the movie about 10 times, and each time I get something more out of it, and I still have a emotional response, depending on what sort of mood I am in. I still haven't seen a movie other then PDL that really has hit me that hard before or after that.

First forum post ever. Sweet.

Most tears...
-Lord of the Rings pt1 - Yes, the scene where Frodo saves Samwise in the River. Still gets me every time.
-The Last Samurai - I'm with JoBlo on this one. I would have been broken-down sobbing if I hadn't been "out with the guys".

Times I came close...
-American Beauty
-Raising Arizona - I was young (10? Am 20 now) when I saw this the first time and that last scene got me. Probably still would.

The scene where the band is saying goodbye, but desides to stay. They start playing and you see a lot of people trapped. Okay. So I cry a lot. At the most ODD movies. Yes I've seen Titanic, yes I've seen The Green Mile, yes I have seen Forrest Gump. I DID not cry. It was totally obvious what was going to happen and there was too much build-up, also I usually cry in moments that are not typically sad (i.e. someone explains how beautiful life is and how much we take for granted or.....something amazing happens...not when someone dies), but I have on occasion cried then.

I rarely ever cry in movies. In fact, I don't, I just have gotten teary-eyed. I can only recall three, one of them came recently actually.

I totally "cried" at the end of LOST IN TRANSLATION. First of all, the movie just connected with me on so many different levels and then, I also found their friendship to be very believable and touching, so when they were parting at the end, I thought it was rather sad. So, I got a little teary-eyed.

Again I add another film to the list of films that made my cry. I've seen The Passion of the Christ on two occasions and both times I've cried. Aside from the brutal violence, this film put into perspective something I live my life by and I felt sad that it took a movie to truly realize what Christ endured and what was portrayed wasn't even a fraction of what he went through.

The ending of A League Of Their Own always gets me...and I always feel like an ass that I'm crying from it...

I remember getting "misty" in the theater at the end of The Sixth Sense...

Yeah, My Dog Skip got me too...

But the most I've ever cried from a film had to be about a week ago, watching Whale Rider on DVD...I swear I cried for about the last 20 minutes of the movie...

Black Hawk Down & Saving Private Ryan had me with tears in my eyes.

Also, one movie always gets me at one particular scene.
It's near the end of Backdraft when Kurt Russell is dying in the ambulance and he says to Baldwin what he always told him as a kid, "Who's your brother?"

Aw man that part always makes me want to cry.

"Heart & Souls". The scene towards the end where Robert Downey and Kyra Sedgwick find it's too late to tie up her loose ends. It starts raining and she says she wishes she could just hold him....and the powers that be allow it. Very touching, and it always makes me tear up.

Recently, I Am Sam drew a few tears. Yeah, it was a bit manipulative, but it was heartfelt.

I'm sure there have been more since then, but the first two times I cried at a movie are strongest to me:

1)I saw Optimus Prime die in Transformers the movie for the first time

and

2) When I saw Mufasa die in the Lion King the first time.

Don't give me a hard time over lion king though; check my profile. I was like eight when it came out.

Since then... not sure. A few. Definitely in John Q when he's saying goodbye to his son. Am I the only person in the world who saw that movie? Meh.

I don't think I've ever actually shed tears in a movie. I've gotten a little glossy eyed a few times though.

Oddly enough, one poignant moment in my fav. movie sometimes does that to me (Mark and Ho being reunited). I've seen it so many times the scene doesn't have quite the impact anymore though.

When I was young, the end of Terminator 2 made me misty.

Also, some of the better trailers have done that to me - like the trailer for the Alamo, though a lot of the impact of that is just reflecting on the level of courage and sacrifice the real life patriots at the Alama displayed. Same deal with Pearl Harbor, though in my mind the full length theatrical trailer for that is the best trailer of all time.
