Im talkin the old ones, like when DVDs first came out. The packaging pisses me off to no end. I've actually balked at buying a bunch of movies b/c they came in paper packages.

You mean the snapper cases? Like the cases for Dark City and Blade? Cause I don't have a problem with them at all, though many do

yea Blade is a movie I was hesitant to buy, but it was only $10 so I got it. But the boexs get easily damaged and dont stack well.

They keep just as well as normal cases if you take care of them.

I hate Snapper cases, but I do like the carbboard "Digipack" cases like Harry Potter, X-men, ect....

I think all the studios now are converting to "Keep Cases" with the relases of Matrix Reloaded and T-3.

New Line has started to re-release theres in plastic. My Austin Powers IMOM for example, I am waiting for Blade and Rush Hour to hit plastic before I get them.

My Blade dvd is the good plastic packaging. I also get pissed at the snapper cases. They don't fit as well on my shelf and they can't be easily replaced.

Just be happy you didn't decide to put your first 20 or so DVDs in a book. I used the chapter list cards for those that came with them, but guess what I had to do with those in snapper cases? Yup, I cut out the covers to slide into my book. :(
