Release News: Kissing Jessica Stein will be arriving from Fox on 09/17 for $29.98. The movie will be presented in anamorphic 1.85:1 widescreen with DD 5.1 audio. The extras will include a commentary (with stars Heather Juergensen and Jennifer Westfeldt), a second commentary by Director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld, 7 deleted scenes, outtakes, a making-of featurette, and the theatrical trailer.

I want to see this film really bad and am disappointed it never came to a theater around me. So of course I can't wait to get my hands on what sounds like a very nice DVD. I know I'll probably be purchasing it right away without seeing the film first, I'm sure it will be great. I almost feel like pre-ordering it which I never do with movies. I probably won't but I'm just anxious and anticipating September 7th.

I saw it here in NYC. It's an entertaining film that would have been a whole lot better if they had ended it about 20 minutes earlier. Once you see it you'll see what I mean. What seems to be a perfect organic ending comes up in the film...and then the story keeps going...

I can't wait to hear what you think of it Mike. For me, September 17 has the words "Panic Room" written all over it.

PANIC ROOM was great and I'll be buying that as well. I'll also probably buy 40 Days & 40 Nights. It wasn't as great as I thought it would be but it was still good, even if that Shannyn Sossamon chick sucked in it. It wasn't her fault though, it was the way her character was written. She just got on my nerves. She would get mad at Josh Hartnett's character for the dumbest reasons and then be mad at him and not talk to him. Then they'd get together, then she'd get mad again, then they'd get back together, then she'd get mad, then they'd get back together, etc. SEE HOW SICKENING THAT IS!!!? It was ridiculous. I kept thinking why the hell does Josh Hartnett's character want to be with her,? just dump the bitch. But other than that it was good and Josh Hartnett gives a good performance. I also want to see Frailty because I missed it in theaters.

Man, I'm going to need to get some money because September 17th is a big day for new DVD's, for me anyway. I need to win Box Office Forecast Challenge really bad, but I also hope you win Horror Whore because you're in the same situation I am. Maybe each of us will win one http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif. Anyway, at the top of my list though is KISSING JESSICA STEIN. I've been wanting to see it for quite awhile. Do you think you'll rent it Horror Whore? I know you don't want to because of the whole lesbian thing but it's supposedly pretty light on the whole girl/girl relationship. Even two of my female friends want to see it and they aren't lesbians, the storyline doesn't even bother them. I think you should see it. I know you can do it Horror Whore http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif!!! By the way, I saw the trailer for the first time on the Shallow Hal VHS and the movie actually looks really funny.

I may rent it but I doubt my local video store will get it. They've been slacking lately with movies that haven't played near me (although Kissing Jessica Stein did, at an art house) or DTV releases. And if I rent it anywhere else, I will be giving into Blockbuster and that's a sin. So I'll only rent it if my local video store gets it (I doubt they will though...)

Kissing Jessica Stein actually did really well for its subject matter and grossed over 7 Million at the Box Office. I kind of consider it a sleeper hit even though it wasn't exceptionally huge or anything. I think your video store should get it. I think mine will get it to, even though it might only be a couple of copies. My video store doesn't get some of the smaller movies that I want to see which pisses me off. I wanted to see Storytelling but haven't been able to because my video store doesn't have it. The same thing happened when Lost & Delirious came out on video so I had to go to a different video store and rent it. I wish they would get more of a variety, why don't they cut down on the Mary Kate and Ashley movies and use some of the money to get a wider selection. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it. I plan on buying Kissing Jessica Stein right away but if I wasn't going to I'm at least pretty sure my video store will carry it. And although I don't know your video store I think there's a good chance they'll get it too.

I was just at DVD Angle and going to post a link to the review, but you beat me to it http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif.

Anyway, the review only got me more excited for it and I can't wait to see it. The DVD sounds great as well as the film itself. The reviewer loved it, along with pretty much all critics.

Horror Whore, you're seeing this movie, I'm counting on you and looking forward to hearing what you thought. Don't even think about backing out http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif. I will be getting it right away the first week and CAN'T WAIT for it. You will be renting it the first week it comes out too and I'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

By the way Horror Whore, the reviewer is right, the trailer is hilarious. The DVD includes the trailer so when you rent it watch that first and I'm sure you'll want to see it. There's nothing to be iffy about.

Only 8 more days! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

I was at the video store today, and it wasn't on their list of upcoming movies... I'm not sure if they'll get it... If they don't, I won't be able to see it. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/redface.gif

I can't wait!!!

Hopefully you'll be able to see it. Sometimes the video store just doesn't have every movie listed. I know mine is that way.

I rented the VHS last night because the DVD was all out at my video store. I plan on buying the DVD soon. For those of you that rented or bought the DVD, how is it? It sounds like it will be a pretty good one.
