I can understand the book forum. I can understand the t.v. forum. I can even understand the music forum. But WHY is there a sports forum? I thought this web site was about the entertainment industry.

Cause Jo likes us.

Actually, Sports ARE entertainment...at the purest level. And the top four sports here in America are HUGE entertainment industries, in and of themselves.

I think.

Then why is it whenever I'm dragged to a sporting event I always fall asleep?

Because you don't like sports. Most schmoes do find them to be entertaining, however, so the Sports forum is justified. I don't visit it myself, but I'll never find a website that caters to my tastes 100%.

Well, if you read the threads in the sports forum you would notice that all the schmoes that post in there love sports and are thoroughly entertained by them. You don't enjoy sports? GOODY! Don't try to ruin it for those of us who do.

We have a sport forum because a world without sport is like a murderer without a motive....MINDLESS;)

Because we're all hacks. ;)

No, what happened was, many of us Schmoes were talking sports in different threads here and there, mostly Sports on ESPN in the T.V. forum. Sev suggested that we get a sports forum, and well, here we are.

I thought this web site was about the entertainment industry. I don't know how you can differentiate "entertainment"? What may entertain you may not entertain someone else. I post there probably about 80% of the time, but I've been an active poster since Jan. 2002, when there was no sports forum, I joined for horror. Yeah, this is primarily a movie site, but I think if you get rid of the sports forum you get rid of all the others that you mentioned. I don't see what it is hurting, it is just diversification to appeal to more people and make this site a better place.

Let me just add we are the best behaved forum on this site, I can't think of any person who has been banned from there. Very few warning are even given out. We all love each other.:D

A high number of people enjoy sports, and when there's enough activity to support it, a sports forum is what we get. I'm still pushing for an adult video forum, but for now, a sports forum will do for most

This is very true. I thought we'd be a much more rambunctious crowd since sports fans can get a little too passionate about their favorite team. Instead, we're a very friendly crowd that gets along. Who would've thunk it?

I think sports are entertainment just like movies, they're just a different type of entertainment. While movies are very visual and can appeal to our different senses, sports are about the spirit of competetion. You get a different type of rush and satisfaction from sports, and to some it may not appeal as much as to others. I'm personally glad we have the sports forum. I joined Joblo's for the movie forums, but I love the diversity of forums we have here. It just allows you to discuss different interests with people you already have something in common with, which is a passion for movies.

I'd like to hereby take the opportunity to say thanks to Sev for keeping our sports forum cool and groovy, and to Joblo for allowing the sports forum in the first place.

I'm gonna add that hilarious quote in there, if it hasn't already been added.

Sports ARE entertainment. I dont enjoy watching them myself, but then again many schmoes dont like horror movies and ignore the horror forum. Or they dont read and ignore the book forum. Ect.

That's like me saying, "Why is there a horror board?" just because I'm not a fan of horror movies. We all have different things we like on this site, and others we don't use as much. Sports are most definitely entertainment as well.
