View Full Version : What is your first choice film to see this holiday weekend (11/26-11/30)?
The Other

I decided to start this thread today because the weekend for new movies officially starts on Wednesday this week, so that'll give us 5 days until then. It's a pretty big weekend too. Most of the movies released should see a nice increase in ticket sales throughout the weekend as many people will be going to the movies this coming weekend.
For me, I'm not sure what I want to see next weekend. This weekend I might actually go see two movies, The Matrix Revolutions and Master and Commander. Tomorrow, actually, so I'd cross them off. I'd LOVE to see 21 Grams, but that'll NEVER open near me. So, I'm still undecided.
Anyway, what is you first choice film to see this holiday weekend?
My parents and I are seeing THE MISSING on Saturday...

21 Grams probably won't pop around here til later. The Matrix Revolutions, I guess.
Maybe The Haunted Mansion. Or Elf.

21 GRAMS, followed by LOVE ACTUALLY and THE MISSING.
Although most likely none will play near me

The Missing looks solid. We'll be seeing it over Thanksgiving break.

My first choice is Timeline but I'll also be seeing The Haunted Mansion, Bad Santa, and The Missing on the same day. Four movies in one day. I've done it once before and I am going to do it again.

21 Grams looks quite good, so I'm looking forward to seeing that the most.
Now that I understand the premise behind The Missing, it doesn't sound half bad. Despite my dislike for Ron Howard movies, I will see it for the performances of the Cate Blanchett, Evan Rachel Wood and Tommy Lee Jones.

My first choice is THE CAT IN THE HAT followed very closely by THE HAUNTED MANSION, TIMELINE and THE MISSING.

BAD SANTA, all the way. Gotta love Billy Bob as a profanity-spewing Kris Kringle. The flick isn't coming to my theatre next week, so I hope to get out to one of the others I go to so I can catch it.

THE HAUNTED MANSION. It's been my favorite ride at Disney World since I was a young boy and the movie looks to capture all the darkness and magic of the ride. I simply can't wait.
"Look, honey, they have dead people in the backyard!"
Tuesday---Last showing of Texas Chainsaw Massacre at 9pm
Thursday--- Love Actually at 6:40
Friday--- Cheaper by the Dozen and free movie at 7:30

Bad Santa seems to be quite appealing... at least moreso than Elf which sucked Donkey balls.

There's a 10 % chance '21 Grams' will come to my area, so I went with The Missing. I also plan to see 'The Cat in the Hat', 'The Haunted Mansion', and 'Bad Santa' on Friday.

Dragging my dad to The Missing this weekend to spend some 'quality time' :)
He'll probably take my sister to see The Haunted Mansion sometime on Sunday or Monday though...

Its all about Bad Santa for me. This one looks very good. Is getting decent reviews, and I cant pass up Billy Bob in a comedy where I think he needs to spend more time in. He is a classic comedian in a drama type cast body.

I plan to see The Missing. It looks very promising and Blanchett, Wood, and Jones are all excellent.

I saw Elf already so it seems appropriate to see Bad Santa next, going down the line of Christmas movies... but my poor broke ass won't get to see it this weekend ...
Pieces of April, its about thanksgiving, and its good, can't wait
