When i saw The matrix Revolutions {8/10} :SPOILER WARNING:::
How long was that scene with trinity giving her farewell speech to neo when she ws dying. God, i was in the movie theater with my bro and my sis's boyfriend seeing this and all of us were trying not to laugh. :p Then some guy in the movie theater just made this fake yawn out loud and the whole movie theater just broke out laughing! Man, it was a funny moment! What time where you were at the movies when someone made a hilarious joke in the movie?

I remember seeing the Architect scene from Reloaded, and there was a person in the audience who yelled "What the fuck?" It was pretty funny, summarizing what my audience was thinking.
But is this meant to be a rant, or a general question? It sucks when people make a joke about a really serious moment, although this thread kinda celebrates it. If it's the latter, it may need to be moved

When i went to see Spider-Man at the end when Peter just kinda leaves Mary Jane in the graveyard (forgive me if I'm wrong about any of that [i.e. graveyard] it's been quite a while since I've seen the film so I don't really remember details) some guy behind me was like "WHAAAT?"

Oh dear GOd, this brought up an amazing memory.
Alright so me and my whole family went to see Cliffhanger the day it opened, so it was packed. (I was young so dont think I cared about what she did) Anyway, during the fight scene with Sly and th black guy (rhyme anyone?) (right before he jabs him through the stalagtyte (sp)) He was getting really beat up Sly was.
So anyway my mom just yells (COME ON ROCKY!!) We laughed and everyone looked at us.

Actually, something like this happened today.
I saw Kill Bill Vol. 1 again, and
**Mild Kill Bill Spoilers**
When Uma Thurman kills Vernita Green
END Spoilers****
this guy said "Well, she had THAT coming" and then everyone started laughing. He sort of laughed and said "uh...sorry...everyone...yeah...sorry...sorry..."
Usually, though, when people do this I want to kill them. I HATE audience George Castanzas.

Questiion about Titanic: When Rose blows that whistle to get that resucue boat's attention, wouldn't her lips have gotten stuck? It's a metal whistle in subzero waters.
My friend started laughing when an old guy in BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE started crying over the tragedy. I was a little shaken by that. She just thought the guy's cry was funny. Terrible.

I went with a bunch of friends to see "Titanic" when it first came out, and they were hysterically laughing the entire time the boat was going down. They especially lost it when one of the guys fell off the top of the boat and hit a propeller. I think some people just laugh when things are uncomfortably awkward.

Yeah, ditto here.
Also, I was very put off when people started laughing at the old couple that were holding each other in bed as the water was rushing in. It was one of the few non-cringe moments of the movie, and people were laughing!

I know! That was something that ACTUALLY happened in real life, with an old couple holding eachother in bed on the bottom layer before they died. Ditto on the mother reading a story to her children before they drowned. Those were some of the only honest moments in the whole contrived artificial film.

that entire honesty is what gave that movie a "sad" vibe to it, I also laughed when
*spoilers*
when the ship went under and the only people seem to be riding the boat down was Jack, Rose and the Chef I think it was and they just looked at each other.
Another part of the movie that kinda pissed me off was when the ship was finally up in the air and people were holding on for dear life and Rose just stared at the people within an arms reach away and didnt help at all.

***********SPOILERS FOR MEET JOE BLACK******
OMG!
That SOOOOOOOO reminded me of Brad Pitt's "death" in the beginning of Meet Joe Black, where he get's smacked around like a tennis ball by different cars.
Talk about a "WTF!!?"? moment in film.
My cousin got up after that scene and screamed "SHOW IT AGAIN! WOOOOOOOOOOO! WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION!"

Rose was seriously one of the most despicably selfish characters in film, right up there with Jenny from Forrest Gump.

She really was, even when she was older she dropped the heart of the ocean overboard which could have brought so many of those guys who worked hard finding it happiness.
Speaking of Jenny, I dated a girl like that once who just wanted to party and not take care of her responsibility and her life.

I too made a joke during the Trinity/Neo scene. As she was talking to Neo, and he's looking at her, even though he's blind, it kinda looks like he's day dreaming or something so I leaned over to my friend, and in perfect Neo voice said: "I know kung-fu." He burst out laughing and the people in front of us turned around and gave us a look like "why the hell are you laughing at such a sad moment?."

When The Exorcist was re-released many were dismayed that the modern audience found much of it funny. Is it progress to laugh in the face of its horrors?
This topic brings up a memory for me too. When I went to see Ghost my stupid, inconsiderate friend cracked wise from beginning to end. I was all like, "Shut the fuck up, asshole!" We've never gone to see a movie together since.

A fellow schmoe and I went to see The Good Son way back in 1990. When Elijah Wood and Macully Culkin threw that fake body onto oncoming traffic causing that huge pile-up...we lost it.
I don't know why but we did and we got a many rude stare for doing it.

This also reminded me of when i saw the Matrix reoloaded, at the end with the to be concluded part. Everyone was silent and then some woman screamed out "WHAT!!!!!!!!!!". I nearly crapped myself! Also during ther movie with "NEO VS. Agent smiths" some guy just started laughing hysterically every time more of the smiths would come

See, that's the good kind of backtalk. Cliffhanger is not really a serious film (it's good for the action), so a comment like that, perfectly timed, is always welcome (even if it did come at a really violent moment in the movie).
I dislike the quips that break the movie's spell. When I was ushering in college I was waiting for The Piano to end. Some girl's boyfriend (who clearly didn't want to be there) let out a bored sigh during an artisticly serene point in the film, completely shattering the reflective mood of the audience. Cue a bad laugh, and an awful way to remember the film.

I had one in Two Towers, at the very end where Sam gives his speech. About half-way through the speech a guy yelled out "GET A ROOM ALREADY!"
Whether he was talking about a couple in the audiance or Sam and Frodo i have no idea, but it was probably the latter.:D
A couple of moments come to mind. My dad is a huge Arnold fan. I took him to see TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY. Things were relatively quiet in the beginning. When Arnold appeared crouched down naked, some girl in the back of the theater hollers out "OH BABY!" Everyone cracked up.
I went with a fellow schmoe to see STAR WARS EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES. (Warning: SPOILER) When Count Dooku had beaten Anakin in the duel, we saw the shadow of Yoda walking into the room. I had a terrible time controlling my laughter. We both snickered when he walked into the room and hissed "Count Dooku..." When they went at it, the audience lit up of course, but we were the only two laughing when Yoda walked into the room.

There is this old story (which may or may not be true) about a stage production of the Diary of Anne Frank with Natalie Portman, i think, starring in the role. The play was apparently terrible and everyone hated it. During one fateful scene, the Nazis are in the downstairs of the building where they are hiding and they are looking around when all of the sudden, from the audience...

When I was watching that scene and the blind Neo goes to kiss her, my friend remarked "it'd be funny if he missed" and cracked me up pretty good.
(mild spoiler for The Time Machine):
Also, I remember watching The Time Machine (shitty movie by the way) and finding the part where he goes back and saves his wife only to have her get run over or something really hilarious. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be, but a lot of people laughed.

Unfortunately, mine is a bit of a rant. Which is actually good because i think this thread is in the wrong forum.
I may of mentioned it before, but when I first saw Signs, there was a bunch of dickheads there, since it was only a 12 certificate (which means that anyone who is 12 or over can go in). Throughout the entire film, I've been hearing nothing but fake farts, laughs, stupid jokes (*POSSIBLE SPOILER* in the scene in the basement where Gibson's son is dying, but does the "feel my chest, breathe" scene, a girl cried out, "He looks like he's doing him up the arse!") and flying popcorn. It spoilt the whole film for me. But I then went to see it again, loved it (9/10) and decided that, after that unbelievable audience, I should watch all 12 movies in the afternoon.

Some wisecracks are funny, but most aren't and sitting in front of someone who thinks their hilarious is the worst (in my experience, that person ended up being an old friends drunk 12 year old step brother and I didnt even know it til the end of the movie).
Although I will admit to laughing at innappropriate times, hell its what Im known for. Ive gotten so many glares, but I dont do it to annoy I just happen to get the most laughs from movies when Im not supposed to be laughing.
In Uptown Girls when Brittany sleeps over at Dakotas house, it totally plays out like a sex scene and me and my friend had tears streaming down our faces we were laughing so hard.
In Texas Chainsaw (SPOILER) when Jessica cuts off Leatherfaces arm I busted up too, and it didnt help when my friend remarked "uh oh, now someones gotta learn how to be a lefty".
The worst though was in Titanic, when they showed a pair of glasses at the bottom of the ocean and my friend cracked "so THATS where I left 'em" and I laughed so hard i got the hiccups and had to run out of the packed theater.
Hmmm.......I realize Im part of the problem. Whoops. Ill try and fix that.;)

Not exactly relating to this thread, but thought I'd share it...
I went to see Behind Enemy Lines and there's a scene at the start when they're on some kind of air force ship (where the planes fly off from), and some of the soldiers are throwing a football at each other. One guy misses, it goes into the water and he shouts "Wilson!!!"
I absolutely pissed myself laughing, expecting everyone else to accompany me after seeing this clever piece of movie referencing. I looked around the hall to see everyone staring at me as if I was a weirdo. It would appear I was the only person who had seen Castaway.

i've got a few good ones:
- at the end of END OF DAYS when Arnie is possessed by jesus or whatever and he fights satan, this fat lady a few rows ahead of me stood up and screamed "GO GET 'IM JESUS!"
- at the very end of FOTR, as soon as they show "directed by peter jackson" this cunt a few rows behind me shouts in a really annoying voice "SEQUEL!" He obviously didnt know there would be TWO more damn movies, and he said it in this tone as if he was ripped off because of his ignorance.
-I'll be honest I went to go see Swordfish simply to see halle berry's boobs, as soon as that scene was finished, my friends and I wouldnt stop laughing at everything that happened, especially when that woman runs out the bank and blows up. Also, whenever Travolta was on screen i'd go "gah-reased lightnin'!"
-The mummy returns was easily one of the most awful movies ever, and in order to make myself enjoy the movie experience, i became the loud movie goer that i hate. Same with a walk to remember (f.y.i. don't let a girl make you go see a shitty movie unless youre guaranteed to get laid afterwards, feel free to ask her.)
