This chaps my ass so bad.

Movies adapted from novels with a huge following of nerds who are so freaking lazy they will not read the novel before seeing the film but so freaking thick and simple minded they will beg readers to tell them what happened in the book so they'll know before the movie comes out.

I've had about a dozen jerks email me to ask "what will happen" in the third LOTR installment and the third Harry Potter installment.

I mean JESUS these are book-nerd movies. I'm a book nerd. But if you are a book-nerd-movie-nerd who won't fucking READ???

That's too far into the vast outer reaches of nerd-dom. I mean when it's a kid, I can grin and tease and say "read the book and you'll know!"

I have no issue with people who don't read a lot or people who haven't read a particular book enjoying the film. But my GOD, 25 and 30 year old über dorks sending me frantic emails like this... that's just sick.

So...

...what does happen in the 3rd LOTR and Harry Potter anyway? :p :D :p :D :p

Just joshing - if you're too lazy to read the book yet STILL want to be spoiled, well, I don;t really know what to say except pull your thumb out and read it yourself, or just have a bit of bloody patience and wait.

EXACTLY!

I don't usually get so pissy but it seems lately I've been getting more hits than usual (local promotional thing, I think) and the stupid emails have been thick and furious.

Moron this morning wanted to know if he could have a t-shirt and a baseball cap. Just emailed me and asked. Like... how have you earned it?

The week Matrix: Revolutions came out I got some really awesome emails asking for either clarification or explanation or, in a few cases, pointing out something I had either not mentioned or missed completely. It was great! But then I had ROTK in my Coming Soon section and a little blurb about Prizoner of Azkaban in the News at a Glance and KABOOM! It was like somebody opened a floodgate.
