PEACHES and MEG WHITE are the coolest on the list.

Nice to see a list that is 50% female for a change...great stuff.

I feel JT is going to get a dissing, shame really...he's produced the BEST POP this year. Senorita, Cry Me a River, Rock Your Body and Girlfriend are all quality tunes.

Overall, VERY diverse and fair list.

Oh, my giddy head.

Any chance you could post the 'fool' list Psycho? You know you're the bestest...and I adore ya...and I can't be arsed traipsing to the shop tonight...;)

See, the paper shop that sells NME is much further than the fag and sweets shop, and it's frequented by skally's, who oft' holler...

"Oy, get ya tits out...luv!"

Niiiiiiiice.

Anyway...

EYEBROWS?

That be the "fool" list milady. :D

I think they are going to compile a list voted for by the readership. I'll post that when they publish it. Personally I think that the NME dudes and dudettes should be publically flogged then left to perish, homeless on the cold streets of this land for the crime they committed against all taste by the inclusion of that wankstain on the curtain of life Charlie Simpson. I almost choked on my aero when I spotted his cretinous visage staring back at me from the page. A complete load of clagnuts.

Interesting list. Timberlake has had a good year but is he really the coolest?

Don't know who I'd choose to be top to be honest?

One thing that struck me was that Charlie from Busted was on there...I mean what for? Mr Mono-brow? Who will it be next year one of the little shites from Blazin Squad.

Good list, very diverse.

I can kinda take or leave the list, but it is cool to see Rufus Wainwright on there, he is a cool cat.

Och the NME lost all rights to decide on what is cool and what is not when they put avril lasagne on the cover. The fact they get outsold by Kerrang! these days just shows how far they've fallen.

It's quite honestly beyond me to explain his presence on that list. The only theory i've managed to conjure up so far is that NME enjoys courting the wrath of it's readership and have planted this talentless schmuck on the list, one place above the infinitely cooler Josh Homme nonetheless, in an attempt to liven up next weeks letters page. I'm sorely tempted to put pen to paper meself. I've never written into the NME and wouldn't generally allow myself to be driven to such drastic lengths under normal circumstances. However, i'm feeling particularly unusual these days and extreme circumstances call for extreme measures.

Anybody who even considers calling Timberlake cool should be hung up by their nuts and then beaten.

That's just me talking though.

I don't think you could have found a cooler act than Outkast this year.

And where are the Neptunes on that list?

I'm in agreeance with Sparrow. Lists suck the high hard one.

I can kind of understand you not knowing who The Libertines are being that they are mainly a UK concern at the moment. The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Kings Of Leon and The Distillers are three of the finest currently functioning bands in the world. All three have featured extensively not only in the UK music press but also in the US. All of the above bands feature on the best album of the year lists by Spin and Blender as published in another thread (except for The Distillers). So they aren't exactly unknown commodities.

I watched a tv concert special with Timberlake last night, just to see whether he's really as irritating as he appears...I have to yes, he really is that irritating. Timberlake is white suburbia hippidity - hoppidity fare, and a mediocre one at that. His songs become quickly old, especially since they're played to death by pop radio stations. Don't know how the rest of the world views him, but in the States he suffers from severe overexposure!
