Here are some films that would be classics, were they not sequels to already classic (and mostly better) films.

1. 2010: The Year We Make Contact
2. Return To Oz
3. Jaws 2
4. Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade
5. Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom
6. Ghostbusters 2
7. Airplane II - The Sequel
8. Fletch Lives

-ok, now i'm getting a bit desperate - but you see my point.

McBain, that's a cool list, not to mention you have a kickass name.

I agree with all of those except Jaws 2 wasn't that good, but it was a decent movie.

These films are GOOD, especially the Indiana Jones films, but by no stretch of the imagination are they classics...even if they weren't sequels...next you are going to say that "Caddyshack II" & "MeatBalls II" were to the original film like "The Godfather II" was to "The Godfather"...if you need some more mediocre sequels here is a few..."Species II", "Carnosaur II", "Cannonball Run II", "Scream 2" & "Breakin' 2: Electric Bugaloo"..."Fletch Lives"?...come on man...don't get me wrong, I like the films you mentioned but classics? No.

I truly love Ghostbusters 2. In fact, currently it is in my top 30, and up until when I joined this message board it was at my #3(behind #1 and The Usual Suspects, which is still numero uno). Return to Oz was one of the biggest pieces of crap ever and would be one of the worst movies ever if I were to consider it a film, which I don't. Your #'s 4,5, & 6 are very good, but 2 & 3 are horrible selections. I would add Pet Sematary 2(it was OK), Back to the Future Part 2(just as good as the first), and Poison Ivy 2(with the voluptous Alyssa Milano. grrrrrrrrrrr.)
