I wanted to post my thoughts on the beautiful, sexy, funny & talented Ms. Paltrow and to my surprise there wasn't already a thread about her here...BLASPHEMY!

I've liked her as an actress for the longest time (yes, enough to have an uber-cool black & white glossy of her framed on my wall) and she has yet to do something to turn me off.

The following films I've liked in particular...

~ Se7en
~ Emma
~ Shakespeare in Love
~ The Royal Tenenbaums
~ Duets (the movie sucks, but she sings really well)
~ The Pallbearer (the movie sucks, but she looks adorable in it)

I feel mixed on her.

She has the ability to be both stunning (Shakespeare in Love, The Royal Tenenbaums, Sylvia) and just plain obnoxious. Her actual personality, while she appears very intelligent, makes me think of someone who really seems far more worthy of conversation than she actually is. Almost as though she's deep and thoughtful in the shallowest of ways.

I'm giving her a yay, because she's underrated in her talent (though she shouldn't have an Oscar yet...in fact, she should receive a nomination for Sylvia) and rather good looking.

Christ...EXACTLY.

She's always 'papped' shuffling around the thrifty area of Notting Hill with some goofy fucking hat on, contemplating her naval, slightly hunched and usually wearing a woollen poncho of sorts (sweating her concave chest off no doubt)...like she's not part of the showbiz world, far too artistic and morose to even be part of it.

I have extremely mixed feelings about her. She's annoying as a person, and has this falseness to her that I can't stand. But as an actress she's decent enough, although when in bad films she's absolutely DREADFUL. However, I do love her British accents very much. She's not all that pretty though...

but i saw great expectations on ifc last weekend, and she looked fantastic in that movie

Huge YAY. One of my favorite actresses. She's great in movies like Sliding Doors, Emma, Shakespeare in Love, The Royal Tenenbaums, Great Expectations etc. and also makes forgettable stuff like Duets, The Pallbearer or A Perfect Murder worth watching.

I'd say she's beautiful too - not drop-dead gorgeous or anything like that, but still - very attractive.
