What are the best performances you have seen lately in video or cinema. Can be recent films or older things, just what are the good performances that stand out that you have watched recently. Here's mine
Julianne Moore - In a particularly good year for her, she turned in magnificant performances in "The End of the Affair" and most notable in "Magnolia". Downright flawless. She was amazing.
Tom Cruise - Whom I despise as an actor, had me giving him props for his performance in "Magnolia". It was amazing to see what he can do. Now I dare him to pull stupid shit like Mission Impossible 3 on us, we know what he can do.
Jennifer Tilly - In a relatively unknown hokey film called "Hide and Seek" released straight to video. She plays a psycho. I could get a lot of slack from this post, but I thought she was downright convincing and quite spooky. Its an odd movie. I loved it though. She pulled it off, and it hasnt been too long since I watched "Bound" and "Bullets Over Broadway" both of which she was amazing in.
Angelina Jolie - Watching "Girl Interrupted" again, thats all I can say. I am in love with her. This one is definately a keeper. Oscar calibur, and downright amazing. Love it. I also re-watched one of her lesser known films "Playing By Heart", and boy can she handle some comedy too. She's so versatile, and so damn sexy, its hard to ignore her.
