I have been getting a lot more into this wonderful band lately. So far I am really liking:
More Than This
Just Like Heaven
Pictures Of You
Does anyone have any other favorite Cure songs that they would recommend to me? Also other bands with a similar sound?
Thanks :)

I'd highly recommend:
Lovesong
Lullaby
A Forest
Disintegration (the title song)
Close To Me
Fascination Street
Killing An Arab
All are great. Infact, I assure you if you pick up the album Disintegration, you will love it. Every song on there is pure genius.

Great selections...Close To Me never fails to make me feel all fucking mushy.
Let's Go To Bed and In-Between Days are fine songs.

I love 'em as well. The one song that wasn't mentioned that I get a huge kick out of is The Lovecats!
Download it...now! :D

I'd recommend the whole Pornography album, especially The Hanging Garden and Siamese Twin.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will download a bunch of these to get my Cure fix for the day. I also borrowed a copy of the album "Disintegration" so I will be listening to that as well.
Mucho appreciated.

Pictures of you allways sticks with me, that song just has something about it.
Also Burn from The Crow soundtrack.
Lovesong is very, very fucking good also. :D

Upon the release of Disintegration in 1989 I sat up and noticed The Cure for the first time. I had been reading both NME and Melody Maker for a couple of years and having recently started working I could indulge my love of music more than I had been able to up until then. I think it was Melody Maker that crowned it best album released in 1989 in the end of year poll. The album has a true epic sweep and there are moments of musical beauty that bely the ugly nature of much of the lyrics (the songs contain a lot of self loathing). It's one of the best albums released during the last century. Absolutely stunning.

The Cure are releasing a 4cd box set called Join The Dots: B-sides & Rarities
1978-2001 (The Fiction Years) on jan. 27. I would definately recommend getting it. Also starting next year they will be remastering and rereleasing all their albums as 2cd set with 1cd of bonus material
