Ok, I got this idea from Love Actually, if it has been done before, close this down like a mouse-infested cookery!

This is different than what songs would you have played at your funeral, because this is the ONE song you can choose to be your last words that you send out into the world.

Put your thoughts out there, schmoes

My choice?

"Thirty Point Buck" by Da Yoopers, of course.

Yes, j/k. :p

For me, it's most likely the go-to song for most graduations, Green Day's "Time of Your Life."

One song, eh? Well, at my funeral, I'd like to play a song that would make people remember me, but smile, and say 'yeah'. If it were a song that would express my final words, it would be more sad and depressing. So, it just comes down to what I'd rather have people remember me by.

Across the Universe, The Beatles.

This is because it's the only song that has actually made me cry and think. I think the lyrics are beautiful and poetic. I'd want people to remember me by this song. I like this song more than the other one - 'Fly me to the Moon'- and just is more me.

I Won't Back Down ~ Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

The perfect song for a perfect (hopefully) life.

This would definitely be my choice.

Dirt by Phish is strangely appropriate for funerals

Washed up on shore...

I’d like to live beneath the dirt
A tiny space to move and breathe is all that I would ever need
I want to live beneath the dirt
Where I’d be free from push and shove like all those swarming up above
Beneath your heals I’ll spend my time

Shout your name into the wind
I’ll wiggle in the earth and dew
Shout your name into the wind
And somtimes I will think of you
Shout your name into the wind
And if you ever think of me
Kneel down and kiss the earth
And show me what this thought is worth
I’ll never hear your voice again

Shout your name into the wind...
Shout your name into the wind...
Shout your name into the wind...
Shout your name into the wind...

But if I had to pick one song to express a final thought song Heaven by Talking Heads

Bohemian Rhapsody. It's everything a song should be.

Honorable Mention goes to: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John

You Can't Always Get What You Want, by the Rolling Stones. It's a perfect funeral song, because it's about dealing with all the bad shit that happens in life.

That'd be a runner-up for me. A great song that'd fit in perfectly (Big Chill, anyone?).

Sunrise - Pulp

I used to hate the sun...because it shone on everything I'd done.
Made me feel, that all that I had done - was over-fill the ashtray of my life.
All my achievement's in days of yore, range from pathetic...to piss-poor.
But all that's gonna change...

Somehow, it feels apt...and the geetar wig-out would go down a treat.

Tool - Eulogy

Don't cry
Or feel too down
Not all martyrs see divinity
But at least you tried

Will you? Will you now?
Would you die for me?
DON'T YOU FUCKIN LIE.

You've claimed all this time that you would die for me
Why then are you so surprised to hear your own eulogy?

Come down
Get off your fuckin cross
We need the fuckin space to nail the next fool martyr

To ascend you must die
You must be crucified
For your sins and your lies

Goodbye...

Pavement's Here...

I was dressed for success
But success it never comes
And I’m the only one who laughs
At your jokes when they are so bad
And your jokes are always bad
But they’re not as bad as this

Come join us in a prayer
We’ll be waiting waiting where
Everything’s ending here

....

And all the spanish candles unsold
Away have gone to this
And a "run-on piece of mount on"
Trembles, shivers, runs down the freeway
I guess she spent her last quarter randomly
I guess a guess is the best I’ll do
Last time last time
Was the best time

Don't need your invite. I'll be the one on your lady's arm.
