But soon after the deal is set, Paris starts to feel as if she might actually be falling for the nobody who became a somebody.

Directed by: Troy Beyer (Let's Talk About Sex)

Starring: Nick Cannon (Drumline), Christina Milian (singer, "AM to PM"), Steve Harvey (The Fighting Temptations), Kal Penn (Malibu's Most Wanted), Kenan Thompson (My Boss's Daughter), Vanessa Bell Calloway (Biker Boyz)

Release Date: December 12th, 2003

Rated: PG-13 for sexual content/humor

Running Time: 1 hour 45 minutes

--------------------

I don't know about this one. I might see it, and I might wait for video. I'll probably end up seeing it and enjoying it like I did last year's DRUMLINE, and Christina Milian looks to be decent. Time will tell if I will see this or not, but right now I'm leaning towards yes.

This film looks horrid! Two bad films in two weeks; this and 'Honey'. The only remote thing that would make me wanna actually check it out is Steve Harvey. But even still, I'm gonna skip this one at all costs. Love may not cost a thing, but going into a stupid movie does.

This looks awful. I'd have to be either drunk or whipped to see this crap.

Anyone remeber THIS movie? Well Love Don't Cost A Thing" is just the SAME setup. Remakes can't be helped but the trailer that I saw just does NOT intrest me in running to the theater. If I had to choose I would rather be torutred w/ "You Got Served" ;). Anyway, this movie reminds me of that commercial on TV where the guy goes into the $1 store and keeps asking the clerk how much are these items he randomly shows him. Thats what I think this movie is worth paying for. :D

God does this movie looks absolutely horrible. Ugh! I will stay far away... I saw the original, which was OK, but nothing special. However, this doesn't even look half as half as half as good as that.

If I have to say something nice about it: it looks slightly better than HONEY.

But of course that's not saying much.

How does this bitch get to make a movie? B*A*P*S was awful!

And this ain't her directorial debut. She did some piece of shit movie called Let's Talk About Sex. Never saw it (never will), but Ebert (http://www.suntimes.com/ebert/ebert_reviews/1998/09/091101.html) thoroughly trashed it. On whose couches did Beyer make a deal to get another shot at filmmaking? And do we really need an Afro-centric Can't Buy Me Love?

the only reason why i would be interested in seeing this movie is because my stupid brother is in it. i know it's wasted money, but i haven't seen a movie with him in it yet.

Looks a lot better than Honey. But I don't want to see it. And I most likely won't. Neat.

BorderEevilIII is right, this movie is a BLATANT rip-off of Can't Buy Me Love from the 80s. All they did was stick it in the 00s and urbanized the movie.

Not necessarily a rip-off, as I've heard them say it's a remake. It even has its title lifted from a song. I'm pretty sure it's a remake.

Oh, will I get a cookie if Jennifer Lopez' Love don't cost a thing song is featured in this movie?

Agree with mickeyD on that. I didn't know that the blond girl from the ex-music group Dream is an actress now. Wow, you learn something new everyday. :)

I might see it, i dunno. I still have to see Honey ;)

Sorry there, F-Dog, worded that wrong. I didn't mean that Drumline flopped, actually, just that it exploded when it got to video. But this movie will flop...I hope...but then get new life on video from little gangsta children.

Sorry.

The reviews for this are fairly positive, it's just an inoffensive romantic comedy aimed at teens.

I recall that this has the same writer as Can't Buy Me love. So it's a remake, not a rip-off...

Yep, it's a remake, not a rip-off. It was even announced a long time ago as a Can't Buy Me Love remake. ;)

Anyway, Ebert liked it (*** of ****) and said it's a lot better than most other teen flicks that come out.
