Honey's numbers prove that teens are all dumber than many people already thought. They will see almost anything no matter how terrible and cliched it is. It's quite sad actually.

The Last Samurai didn't open that big but the snowstorm likely affected it and it still will be number one and eventually make 100 million no doubt.

I was pretty much dead-on with HONEY. A bunch of people thought I was predicting too high, but I just knew I wasn't. I feel like doing the "told you so" dance from Will & Grace :D.

This is what I predicted for THE LAST SAMURAI:

Friday - 10.2 Million
Saturday - 12.7 Million
Sunday - 8.3 Million

Total - 31.2 Million

HONEY:

Friday - 4.955 Million
Saturday - 5.2 Million
Sunday - 3.0 Million

Total - 13.155 Million

eighTEEN ;).... What's the big deal? There's nothing wrong with being happy about being right. Obviously, I was only half serious anyway. But I am happy. Not happy that it's a hit, but I'm happy I was right. :D

If you are seriously happy about how much a movie makes at the box office, we've got other problems.

Anyway, I knew that Honey was going to get some money no matter its quality. It just has a target audience that wasn't filled at this moment by any movie.

And I also thought that you were predicting too positive about TLS. It will make less than $30 M this weekend, as i thought, when most of you predicted more than 35M. Let's see how it handles ROTK's competition... Maybe it won't get to $100 M, although that's not very likely.

Why are you always picking on people? Are you trying to start trouble? What's the big deal if he's happy that he was right about Honey? I certainly don't see anything wrong with it.

Really, there isn't anything wrong with being happy about a movie's gross. . .

Last I checked, I have not been what you call "picking" on people, just one person and not in a harsh manner either.

Rather disappointing numbers all around! And yes Honey too....Im disappointed that it made so much! (Yes I havent seen it but the trailers alone are gag-inducing!). I mean seriously great films like The Magdalene Sisters, Thirteen, and Laurel Canyon are not widely seen by the masses but Honey is? Where is the justice in the world!

Anywho Bad Santa from Friday's estimates looks like it will have the best hold this weekend. Im planning on seeing it tommorow night! Ive only seen 1 film Love, Actually since the end of October....I need my fix.

Oh and for shits sake guys......everytime I check the forum there is some kind of drama going on here........ just get along, agree to disagree! This is turning into an episode of Days Of Our Lives.....

I expected more from The Last Samurai, but as Freeway said, it was definately effected by the storm. It should have a bigger Saturday and Sunday. It's near depressing to see a film like Honey do nearly as well as The Last Samurai. What has happened to America's youth?

America's youth must be a a crack binge. How else to explain Honey's unfortunate success.

Glitter 2: Back to the Rehab Center was a success and films like BIA and The Missing are pieces of floppage?

LS did well. Legs should propell it to $125 million or so.

I went to the theater today(to see Looney Tunes) and listened to what other people in line were going to see(as I always do).

To my surprise, every person in line was there for tickets to Honey.....and half of the crowd was over 50.

I knew that HONEY would do well, and I'm happy for it. It really hasn't gotten the worst reviews ever (which everyone is making it sound like) and I have actually heard that Jessica Alba and Mekhi Phifer give good performances.

Good for LAST SAMURAI. I'm seeing it tomorrow, I hope that it does well.

Good hold for LOVE ACTUALLY, THE MISSING, GOTHIKA and BAD SANTA. GOTHIKA is really surprising me, for it is having small drops (unlike most horror movies). It must have good word of mouth amidst the tepid reviews.

Unfortunately HAUNTED MANSION and CAT IN THE HAT are dropping. CITH will definetely reach $100 million, but I think that it will end there. MANSION's fate is yet to be decided.

Oh yes. Gothika's 65% drop is REALLY good.

All the holdovers held poorly, which was expected. Most of them will rise today though.

I'm not surprised Honey made so much on Friday. Almost every female I knew locally wanted to see it, and if Save the Last Dance can be so successful, there's always hope for the endlessly cliche'd Honey.

I'm not surprised either for TLS, since a movie like it can be a hard sell, and should hopefully pick up on the weekends

Everything fell exceptionally hard, even on a post-Thanksgiving weekend. Must have been that snow storm that hit New England. I know that stalled me from seeing Elf yesterday.

Even with the big snow storm, I didn't expect Cat in the Hat to fall down so far

Damned Martian

Cat will have problems to reach $120 M. It'll pass 100, no doubt, but won't get much more (maybe a Freaky Friday level, which is like saying it's a flop, because it's not going to get much from the overseas market that doesn't know who's Dr Seuss).

Haunted House won't even get $70 M, and that's for sure a flop. Bigger than i expected, but i guess Eddie Murphy is not Orlando Bloom. :D

Another big flop is Timeline. It will be lucky if it gets more than Honey... Unexpected, at least at this level, for me. I thought that if any movie of the past weekend was going to sink, that was going to be The Missing.

Last Samurai has made less than Master and Commander, and with ROTK right there is going to have bigger drops, so it probably won't get to 100 either. A Gangs of NY level (75 M) is very likely here. Can't say I'm upset. ;)

Honey is doing well for its level, as it was obvious. Won't be a big hit, but didn't pretend to either. Around $35 M in the end.

I'm still surprised with Elf. What does that movie have? The trailer i've seen looks pretty lame, but it's the biggest grosser of this Fall... And it could even make more money than T3 in the end!!

Other surprises, lesser ones, are Gothika (which I was affraid it was going to be a flop, but it's doing really well), The Missing (that, despite its deadly date of release, it's managing to get more money than i thought) and Bad Santa (which I thought it was going to do well, but not this well... maybe Elf's influence?).

M&C is fighting its way to $100 M, very toughly i must say. Strong contenders and yet small drops (at least smaller than the other movies in past weeks). If it finally gets some Oscar nods, which is very likely, its gross will be increased and will breathe after all...

Love Actually, as expected, is holding great. $60 M could be its final gross... Revolutions won't get to $150 M, sadly, but it should pass 140. With overseas gross, it's good numbers (though not great).

I really hope that The Last Samurai has that good of a hold because then it would be a virtual lock for 100 million plus. Also, I proclaim right now that Something's Gotta Give is a lock for 100 million, at least it seems that way as of now. As for Stuck on You, that film could either flop because of its potentially offensive premise or it could do quite well, possibly making more its first weekend than SGG but grossing far less in the long run.

I know, the rules would get tighter as if they aren't already quite snug. If we have more well-established members banned, the more rules there would be, and we as posters would like them as low as possible, and I'm sure Jo doesn't want to make the rules stricter.

Anyway, that's all I'll say, for now, anyway...
