This post could possibly belong in the TV forum but its a rant so I chucked it in here.

What the fuck is going on with the lack of 24 Season 3 in the UK. Apparently Fox and the BBC couldn't come to an agreement over scheduling and so it is up in the air for other channels to bid for. WTF?

24 has the biggest cult status of any U.S show imported here, everyone talks about it and there is even a crappy live "Pure 24" show on after it for geeks to talk about it. If it goes onto Sky or a channel that shows countless adverts I'll scream the roof off and then go on a mad killing spree on GTA:Vice City maybe. The program has a higher rating than even the most popular show on Channel 5. Sort it out UK!!!!!!!!

That truly sucks major ass.
I mean I live in the Usa, so
I get to see it, but for other countries
not to get it, well thats down right rude.

The only thing I can say, is just hold in
there, eventually you will be able to see it,
even if it's on dvd.

And I'm not trying to rub this in your face,
so please don't take it that way.

Or, you can always download the suckers off
of Kazaa, winmx, etc etc. Just look for the appropriate
season, and your good to go. Winmx is better and safer
though, go with that.

Show the scaliwags you want to see the show.

I'm pissed off about it as well but...

I'll watch regardless of what channel its on. 24 being on BBC made it more enjoyable because it had no adverts inbetween

I think the problem is bbc2 can be picked up free in some of mainland europe on terrestrial and can be picked up pretty much anywhere in europe free if you've got a dish. Fox wanted the bbc to buy the rights for the whole of europe not just the uk as a result which the bbc were not willing to do.

Although the fucking stupid thing is the bbc spent 4 cunting million pounds on fightbox- a really really bad show no one watchs. I'd of rather had 24 thank you please.

Fightbox...he he he he he yes don't get me started on that...4 million you say hmmmm...and to think they couldn't keep that superdrama STRANGE for a second series.

Anyway I don't know how much this will help but if you didn't get to see 24 watch an even better conspericy drama I promise that if you give it a chance you will fall in,ove with it.
It's called EDGE OF DARKNESS and in my personal view the optimum in conspiracy drama;)

Yeah fightbox cost £4M and on it's 1st run on bbc3 it had an audience of 22000. Yes you read that right. It would have been cheaper to buy everyone who watched a PS2 and their own fighting game than make the show. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Sky 1 has bought the rights and will be showing season 3 from the spring. So 24 is off free to air tv in the uk :( (Farts in the general direction of everyone involved in this debacle)

What? I have Sky so no biggie for me but...why Sky One. Surely the ratings would be worse than BBC 2??? Mind you Sky NEED a big show since losing Friends, ER and Buffy and X Files ending.

You know another thing I'll miss is Pure 24 after the new episode on BBC3 with the lovely Tamsin Sylvester!

Yeah but sky 1 has more money to spend and is owned by rupert murdoch, who also owns fox who make 24, so it was always likely they'd get it.

NB: After pure 24 Tamsin Sylvester was, it was reported on teletext, put by the bbc in charge of stories about......the beckhams.

You know if I was a serious reporter and that was the job my bosses put me on, I'd probably kill myself. ;)

Well, I don't know if this will make you feel any better but I think if you could see how utterly terrible the current season of 24 is you wouldn't feel like you were missing much. I don't want to post spoilers because you're obviously looking forward to seeing it and I don't want to ruin anything for you but when you finally do get to view it I hope you'll come back and share your thoughts. I post on a number of boards where the show has been discussed in detail and so far I haven't run into anyone who is enjoying it. Some of the most diehard fans have stopped watching even. It's a shame because last season was so powerful but I guess you can't really expect that kind of suspense and quality of writing to be maintained forever.

considering it hasnt even started showing on sky it probably wont be shown on terrestrial tv for a while, as far as i remember, it took a while for it to be shown on bbc2 for season 1 and 2 after starting on sky
