With 20 days left 'til 2004 I thought it would be an appropriate time for everyone to list their favorite (or top 5 or 10) sports moment (s) of the year.

It doesn't have to be professional I suppose, it could be a great bowling score of yours :p or a hat trick you scored to win the big game. Although, if it's a personal one, it had better be damn good! ;)

My favorite moment would be Mike Weir winning the Masters. Unbelievable accomplishment.

My second favorite is the Marlins winning the W----YEAH RIGHT!!!

:D:D:D

Well, I'd say the Masters win for Mike Weir is definitely my favourite especially when he nearly blew it!

Roy Halladay's amazing season and Carlos Delgado's superhuman first half would come next.

Thirdly I'd have to say when the Leafs got eliminated from the playoffs...that was pretty special

Patrick Roy's speech was the greatest sports moment this year, and probably for a while.

hmmmm lets see what i can come up with

- Travis Green OT winner in game 6 of Playoffs, yes even though the Leafs would get slaughtered the next game, at this point we were going apeshit, and i remember how much we celebrated this win.

- Mike Weir winning the Masters, i remember gathering around the TV with my pops and gramps on the sunday watching the finale.

- Indianapolis scoring i think it was 21 points in under 4 minutes to come back and defeat the Bucs in the biggest comeback in NFL history

- Watching the Mighty ducks dominate the Western Conference in the playoffs, and choosing Jean-Sebastian Gigure in my playoff pool and getting laughed at :)

- Pavel Datsyuk's amazing goal

- Steve Bartman

I'm a b-ball and MJ fan, so seeing MJ's final game was definitely a special moment. Not the "best" moment per se (hated to see him go, anyways), but great.

That was this year, right? I tend to forget, what with the guy retiring every other year... ;)

Florida State beating Florida AT the Swamp two weeks ago (college football). Oh man it was great, definitely the highlight of the year for me. The game had been a see-saw, the lead was going back and forth all game. Then with about a minute to go, Chris Rix launches a 50 yard TD completion to put the Seminoles ahead for good. Then after the game The FSU team jumped on the giant "F" in mid-field, and stole the gator head. It may have been bad sportsmanship, but it was far and away my favorite sports moment of the year. :D

A lot of great ones have already been mentioned, so I'll just add...

Marquette's run in March Madness. I remember thinking, who are these Marquette people anyway?

The Spurs winning the NBA championship. (Hey I was happy about that. :p)

My Huskies beating the Cougs in the Apple Cup.

1) Chris Phillips scores OT winner to to bring Ottawa back from a 3-1 series deficit in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. What a magical moment for me.

2) Ottawa Senators finish season with 112 points and the President's Trophy. Despite it not being a Stanley Cup, it was still a pretty exciting moment.

3) Mike Weir wins the Masters

4) Roy Halladay's great season

5) The Heritage Classic

6) The Cubs great playoff run

7) Brian Kilrea inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame

8) Colorado, Dallas, Vancouver, and Detroit all being upset by somewhat mediocre teams.

9) Patrick Roy's retirement speech

10) Jose Theodore's Toque

All right some real ones, at least the best I can think of now.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Cubs coming oh so close to the World Series.:(

-I was also thinking of Marquette getting to the final four, nice call on that one.

-The Little League World Series. It was irrelevant to me who won, but I always get a thrill out of watching the little guys play.

-Iowa beating Michigan in football and ruining there national title hopes.:)

Mark Philippoussis beating Juan Carlos Ferrero in five sets to clinch the Davis Cup for Australia. He was two sets up, then lost the next two very easily, then won the last set to love. The man had a strained right shoulder for the last three sets. Heroic performance. Atmosphere wsa electric.
