Ok, I know we have the major rules round these parts, but how bout we add some new rules to those existing ones?

This isnt meant to give smart ass remarks, but actual suggestions that Jo can really use.

#1: NO POSTING IN SOLID CAPS OR CREATING THREADS THAT THE TITLE IS ALL IN CAPS. CAPS means yelling, and I hate feeling like I'm being yelled at.

#2. Whenever starting a new thread, always, ALWAYS, use the search button.

Feel free to add more now.

Here's a rule the mods enforce but I don't see it at the Rules section:

No posting pictures with nudity

BTW Jackson Rule number 3. e) is DON'T WRITE IN ALL CAPS at the page that explains the rules.

What is wrong with that?

I don't think posting in all caps is wrong. I mean, what if someone's hands were cut off, and they had to use their nose to type, and accidently hit the CAP LOCK button before it happened. In a distress, they try and type a help call to us, but we think they are yelling at us.

Ok, I think the Cap thing is a good idea.

The thing w/ caps does that include typing in the subject line also? And the deal w/ nudity.....If the pic does NOT show actual visible body parts I think theres nothing wrong. I did see one I forgot WHERE I saw but was not physically posted. Thats all...

(runs & flees) :D

Yes, I know. Thats why I included thread titles that are all CAPS. People do that all the time and I find it annoying, like someone is shouting at me.

Not always. CAPS also designate movie titles since italics don't work in thread headings. Get used to it.

Say, if you want NO CAPS because it annoys you, I want everyone to proofread with a dictionary and spellchecker because bad grammar annoys me. See how ridiculous requests like this can get?

This I do agree with. C'mon, y'alls - it takes only a moment to see if what you're about to post has already been discussed.

No posting pictures with nudity The question i ask now is: when does nudity start? A see-through top? A full naked back picture? A tiny lil' thong? The glimpse of a nipple?

BTW, if people has to be 15 now to join here, this clause is not that important IMO.

I have one: No more of that damn Bostwick picture.

Is it this?

Or this?

:D

Anyway, if this rule is engaged, I'd still have ol' fella JCVH (Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter for the common humans):

Naked as in "butt-naked, with no clothes at all covering the ass and/or nipples (for women) and/or genitals (pussy for women, dickie for lads, both for Jamie Lee Curtis)".

I think there should be more nudity allowed.

I don't think that's possible since this board is powered by vBulletin and (althought I haven't checked) it's possible they don't want nudity so they can keep this place viewable to the public (even underaged kids). It would be nice thought.

Another rule I thought of:

No spoiling topics

I've happened upon a few threads here where we're supposed to think up movies that have a certain type of ending (ex:the ones where the good guy loses). Here's my problem: if you know what kind of ending the movie has and you haven't seen it, then this spoils the movie for you. I hate these kinds of threads.

In those situations, I don't click on the thread.

Also, the "no nudity" clause isn't so tragic. There are squillions of sex forums out there if you simply must get your T&A fix from a message board.

;) But, what about if the picture fits this definition, but the lady is just showing her back, and her naked butt? Is a naked butt also a nude? What about if it has a thong that consists in just a thin elastic line? Is that being dressed?

Was that really necessary? My eyes are still burning.

Technically...yeah. :)

I know it's dumb, but whaddya want...that's what nudity-and-sex-banishing rules are supposed to be, after all. ;)

But James, all you do is talk about sex! If we can talk about it, why cant we see it every once in awhile? Theres nothing wrong with having illustrations in a story. In fact, they sometimes make a story better. Just think what it would be like if every sexual reference you made also had a picture with it! :D

1. In that case, why do we need those threads? JoBlo against the spoiling of movie (which is often what happens on those thread.

2. Yes, but I don't want to visit those forums (this one is just that damn good).

I don’t know about new rules, but here is one that I feel needs to be enforced a bit more often…
“2) You MUST be at least 15 years of age to join our board. Even if you're older than that, we expect you to post constructively, maturely and with sense. Basically, post with some weight behind it. If you've joined just to crack wise...you will be banned.”

Now, the main part I am speaking of is the last little bit. Everyone here likes to laugh and joke and have a good time, and that is fine with me. However, there have been several instances where a thread is started with a very serious and straightforward topic, and it ends up going wwwwaaaaayyyyy off with folks just popping in to make a smartass comment, or to post “LOL” or “LMFAO”. Like I said, I don’t have an issue with folks having a good time, but if you feel the need to jump in and make a joke, at least try and add something else to the conversation as well.

Hell, I’m sure at some point in time I have done this too. I don’t think it is a bannable offence in the least, but maybe topics would stay true to their original intent if folks would not be so quick to try and impress everyone with their “wit”.

Oh well, screw it. That’s my two cents
