I just read at http://www.darkhorizons.com/news03/031216g.php that Chris Cooper is in the running for Commissioner Gordon. What does everyone think? Good? Bad?

I think that could actually work really good. If it was the Joel Schumacher version then i'd say some shorter overweight guy that's half bald.... But it's f'n Nolan version that sounds like a realistic super-hero type of film that tries to stay true to it's originals, then i think he'd be really good. Maybe not perfect, but i'll go for Cooper as Commisioner.

Chris Nolan must be a master of seduction. How else does he get such great casts? I'll tell ya how...

"You're lookin' a little tense there Mr. Cooper. You want a cup of coffee? Hmm, you still look a little strung out. Here. It's okay, my sister is a masseusse. Yeaaah. Feelin' a bit better? No? Hold on. Don't be so fidgety. Just relax and accept it. That feels nice, doesnt it? Be in my movie...

I was thinking of someone like Viggo Moternsen as Gordon, but Chris Cooper would be waaaay better as Gordon.

Damn!!..... Nolan is a bad ass!

You know Nolan really wants a strong actor for the role of Gordon.

And shucks, Chris Cooper is one damn strong actor.

I still hope Sam Neil nabs the role though (he was on a short list that were being considered a few months ago). I absolutely loved the guy in The Hunt For Red October.

Chris Cooper caught my atention on "Great Expectations" with a small role but with a better and stronger performance than even De Niro.

Ever since that day (about 6 years ago) I´ve watched him take bigger and better roles; American Beauty, Adaptation.

But if their going for a story with some similarity with Batman:Year One then this movie would really give Cooper the recognition he deserves. He´s one of the best supporting actors their is.

I'm a really big fan of this decision. I think Cooper will do really well with this role.

I read somewhere that the cast list various sites reported, which included Viggo Mortenson and Chris Cooper, was false, but in case it is true, I'm getting even more excited. Cooper deserved the Oscar last year, and is a very good actor

Sounds great. Chris Cooper is a solid actor. He would make a good Commissioner Gordon. I mean Commissioner is a high strong figure, not like the Joel Schumacher versions where he has a tubby kind of Gordon.

He can do it, I think. I've seen him take on tougher roles. He was exceptional in AMERICAN BEAUTY.
