Hey all you canadians who are downloading and uploading music our version of the RIAA is going to be launching lawsuits.

But their problem is that it is legal to download music, or copy music for personal use, but we cannot share it in anyway, (we can't give a copy or sell a copy to a friend)

i have no idea, probally what they'll go is donwload the music and record the ip's of those they are getting it from, then the ones that are canadian are the ones they go after

I saw it on www.CTV.ca and I know that it's not the RIAA but our version of it (I just can't remeber the name)

Well do you get sued if you share files? Because I do not share my music at all so I think I wouldn't be sued.

with the way the law is written we can record (or download) a copy of the music but you can not share it in any way. IE. uploading it, makeing a second copy, giving it or loaning it to a friend.

ie. disable file sharing in all your p2p programs and you aren't breaking any laws at all by downloading music.

Well, if it's a crime to share files....then I'm ok. Plus, I don't have many downloaded songs. Like 15. I buy my stuff...usually. ;)

How the hell are they going to be able to tell if you burn a cd or not? Or give it to a friend? What a waste of resources trying to find these 'criminal master minds' that download some songs. Fucking idiots, go bust real criminals.
