Which one is the one you liked the most?

Finding Nemo (8.3/10)
We both have it as our #4 on the list.

But I voted for Lost in Translation anyways, because I know I will love it.

Finding Nemo (9/10), Mystic River (8/10) and Master and Commander (6/10) are the only three i've seen from that list. And Nemo was my fave.

Monster and Lost In Translation are the only other two I want to check out.

Probably Finding Nemo....

My favorite at this point is Lost in Translation which is very slightly above Mystic River (they're my #3 and #4 movies respectively, and I'm not sure about that order), both with 9/10. Owning Mahowny is also on my top 10 (#8) with 8/10, and I enjoyed Finding Nemo (7/10). Having not seen the other 6 films, I don't want to vote though because I suspect American Splendor and Monster might have a chance of potentially trumping my choices.

I should probably have waited a little while longer to vote, since I haven't seen The Son, Monster, or In America yet. But for now, it's like this for me:

1. American Splendor- 9/10
2. Lost in Translation- 9/10
3. Mystic River- 9/10
4. Finding Nemo- 9/10
5. Whale Rider- 8/10
6. Owning Mahowny- 7/10
7. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World- 6/10

I haven't seen many of those movies. So, I chose the very entertaining and funny Finding Nemo.

I have only seen 3 films from the list:

Lost in Translation * * * * (9.5/10) A+ - Simply an AMAZING movie. Definately the best from the list and my second favorite movie of the year!

Mystic River * * * 1/2 (8.5/10) A - A powerful movie that is third favorite movie of the year!

Finding Nemo * * * (7/10) B - Good, but totally overrated and overpraised. Not deserving of being in the top 20 let alone top 10.

Only two of the film's on Ebert's list are in my personal top ten for the year: Lost in Translation (my #1 film) and In America (my #2 film).

Finding Nemo owns all. Disney should rule the world and make Disney Land spread across the entire world. Then, we can reanimate Walt Disney's dead body, and worship him as the new Jesus.

Or I could just watch Finding Nemo again.

That is so, so tough for me because both Lost in Translation and In America were nearly flawless (IMO). Mystic River was great too, but my vote goes to Lost in Translation. But I still haven't seen Monster and I'm upset Kill Bill didn't make his list.

Master and Commander completely blew me out of the water (ha). I mean, not only did it catch me off guard, but the subtlety of the performances and the depth Crowe brought to it amazed me. Having seen it twice, it is clear to me this: I'M FULL OF SHIT.

Kill Bill Vol.1 was, in my opinion, THE movie of 2003, but Lost In Translation came in a distant second.

Bravo to Sophia Coppola, Scarlett Johannson, and of course, one of new favorite actors, Bill Murray.
