Well, 'tis the season. We all love our Christmas movies. I know I do. So, us folks over in Pimpland thought we'd bring our Christmas Special. This week, we pimp our favourite Christmas movies. They don't have to be little-known ones, just our favourites. I think it's pretty obvious what AJ and I will be picking, take a guess. Anyway, on with the show....

A CHRISTMAS STORY (1983)

This film needs not introduction. It is the essential of all Christmas classics. The classic story of little Ralphie wanting his Red Ryder BB gun is one that many have been talking about for years. It's heartwarming, but it's just what Christmas is in many places. It's a simple story. Many great moments for this film. I think AJ and I could go on for days. But, my favourite among them all is when little Ralphie and his little brother go and visit Santa Clause.

"HO.....HO.....HO!"

I re-watched this flick on Sunday, missing the last 10 minutes, but it was ok. 'A Christmas Story' is my favourite Christmas movie of all time, and is among my favourites of all time.

10/10 or **** (out of 4)

blankpage hit the nail on the head; A CHRISTMAS STORY is without a doubt the best Christmas film I've ever seen, not to mention one of my personal all-time favorites. Its charm is everlasting, its humor rich, its sweetness endearing...The film never ceases to make me smile or, during key scenes, even tear up ever so mildly. This is one of the first movies I ever saw, and since then, it's been a landmark in my range of cinematic viewings. I have an undying love for A CHRISTMAS STORY, and although some studio had the audacity to actually make a sequel (MY SUMMER STORY, a.k.a. IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY, with Charles fucking Grodin as Ralphie's dad), this stands above all films that try to capitalize on its charm. I salute you, Bob Clark, for making one of the best films of all time, and God bless Jean Shepherd for providing such great material to work with.

"Fra-gee-lay...Must be Italian!"

"What is the name of the Lone Ranger's nephew's horse?"
"Ahh...Victor! His name is Victor."
"How the hell did you know that?"
"Everybody knows that!"

"Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window..."

"Where's the glue?"
"We're out of glue.
"You used up all the glue...on PURPOSE!"

"Ooohhh...ffffudge..."
"Only I didn't say 'fudge.' I said the word. The big one. The queen-mother of dirty words. The F-dash-dash-dash word."

"In the heat of battle, my father wove a tapestry of obscenities that, as far as we know, is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan."

A Christmas Story is one of those Christmas movies I havent gotten around to seen yet. Sounds like fun though.

I also like a Christmas movie that some people might pass off as "just another Muppet movie" but in reality is a really really damn fine Christmas film.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is a good movie to watch during the holidays because it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you watch it, and it reminds you that you dont want to waist your life being a selfish egotistical bastard. Its better to just be really really nice to each other.

Basically its the retelling of Dickens inmortal classi, but witht he muppet twist.

Not only does it have the still incredibly funny entire muppets cast but it has a damn fine performance by Michael Caine thats really not to be missed.

I hope some of you guys get to see it during the holidays and give it a shot because its got some real warmth and feeling to it. It was directed by Brian Henson son of the late Mupper meister Jim Henson. In my opinion Brian did a good job in maintaining his fathers creations and that "muppet feeling" and special sense of humor intact. Hey Rizzo the rat is the narrator of the story! :D
