I was just wondering what everyone thought of this flick, I was thinking about blind buying it soon, so is it a good movie?

I think it's an absolute classic, but your enjoyment of the film depends on whether or not you like Woody Allen. Actually, it's one of his most accessible works, but I wouldn't blind buy it unless you knew you liked him.

As I said, though, I think it's great.

Coming from someone who hasn't seen that many Woody Allen movies, my opinion may not be worth much but I loved Annie Hall! It was very funny and despite all its elaborate jokes, it has a down-to-earth and realistic ending which was a nice touch in my opinion.

I'll have to see more Allen films, which would you all recommend?

So far, I have seen:

~Annie Hall (obviously)
~Hannah And Her Sisters
~The Curse Of The Jade Scorpion
~Mighty Aphrodite

I haven't seen any Woody Allen movies, but I heard this was his best, and I'm a sucker for romantic comedys.

Well, if you look below, my thoughts are pretty apartent. It is indeed a classic, and is worth a blind buy. Everything was brilliant. One of those rare movies that everyone is just about perfect.

I just bought Annie Hall from futureshop because I can watch it every year for the rest of my life! (and they're having a massive sale =P)
But seriously its a good film, I watched it for the first time in film class, told my parents about it and they loved it as well!

For other Woody Allen films, Hannah and Her Sisters was really good, and Jade Scorpion was funny to watch, I love hypnotists >=O

Fuck it, I'll go out and buy it.

flowrchild says it's his best movie and she's right.

It's high on the list of my favorites, (Hannah and Her Sisters will always hold the top spot there), and probably the perfect film to sum up Woody's canon. If someone doesn't like it, they should probably skip his other films, because it's the acme of his work.

Watch for Walken's scene where he tells Woody's character Alvy about his dream. It's a stone classic.

Let me put it to you this way:

I DON'T like Woody Allen, but I LOVE Annie Hall.

Evidently a man sooo wrong can actually do something sooo right:D

My second favorite Woody Allen movie (first being Manhattan); it's possibly one of the most likeable, endearing, funny romances of all time, and pretty realistic too. It's just hard NOT to love this movie. 9/10

Ive always liked this movie but it s never had the emotional impact for me as it has for other people.

To me Manhattan has it beat in spades as I find it a darker, edgier, and just a more emotionally fulfilling film. Ive seen it many times and it always moves me to tears. Such a beautiful film not only in the cinemnetography but also in the brilliant script. It also has one of the best last lines in film history.

"You gotta have a little faith in people."

I've never been a fan of Woody Allen flicks. In fact, I could almost say that I downright HATE them.

I didn't like ANNIE HALL, either, but like others have said - if you're a fan of Woody Allen, then this movie is sure to be a keeper.

By far the best scene in the movie is when Christopher Walken talks about driving his car late at night... that's classic. And it's only so good because of Walken's delivery! HAHAHA!

While you're at it, check out THE SWEET & LOWDOWN. That's something that I really fell for. Great music, too. And Samantha Morton (MINORITY REPORT) was painfully adorable in it!!

As you can surely tell, I think this is one of the finest movies ever made. Possibly one of the greatest romantic comedies (though it is somewhat of a disservice to call it that). So brilliant. So perfect. So great.

Don't you see the rest of the country looks upon New York like we're left-wing, communist, Jewish, homosexual pornographers? I think of us that way sometimes and I live here.

:D

Woody Allen's best movie, in my opinion, and one of the best romantic movies ever made. It has humor, sincerity, sweetness, dementedness, and not the usual cliches tossed around. I just adore this film.

"No, no...I enjoy having my whole life reduced to a cultural stereotype."

(Carol has never looked better or sweeter than in that scene, with her giant Adlai Stevenson button.)

Any chance of a Special Edition of this one coming out anytime soon? I'm hesitant to purchase it if there is going to be one of those ultra cool MGM SEs coming out. Those are extra snazzy.

As far as I know, no SE planned yet, though the flick deserves one.

Here's some good ones:
Take the Money and Run
Sleeper
Bananas
Zelig (my personal favorite of the Woody Allen films I've seen)
The Front

Annie Hall is a great movie. It's especially memorable for having Christopher Walken's first big movie role, which, IMO, has one of his funniest scenes (with him, Allen, and Keaton in the car). I wouldn't recommend doing a blind buy, though, unless you're a Woody fan. You really should probably rent it first.

So, did you watch yet or what? I was curious to hear your opinion...
