If you don't know.... Gerunds function as nouns. Thus, gerunds will be subjects, subject complements, direct objects, indirect objects, and objects of prepositions. Present participles, on the other hand, complete progressive verbs or act as modifiers
My choice is:
The Killing

That was my first reaction upon reading that, too.
As for my picks:
Well, The Shining is the only one I can think of. Haven't seen Raging Bull, but I plan to sometime soon.

I think most of you have the wrong idea of what a gerund is. It isn't any word that ends in "-ing," it is a word that ends in "-ing" that acts as a noun. Thus, The Killing would be a gerund since "killing" is used as a noun and is the subject, but Raging Bull would not, because "raging" is used as an adjective there, and is not the subject. But then again, that's only what I was taught, and I could be wrong.
And my pick is The Shining.

How about The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three?

Wedding is NOT a gerund! Not every word ending in -ing is a gerund, much like not every word ending in -ly is an adverb, like family. Sorry, I thought I had to add on to RicShaw's lesson.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Finding Nemo or Being John Malcovich yet.
