Someone at a Godzilla forum posted these interesting pics of various mechas done in the image of classic Toho kaiju, along with a plot description. I wonder if this is what Toho has in mind for Godzilla's 50th...
In 1954, mankind unleashed the power of the atom upon nature, and nature took its revenge in the form of the first Godzilla.
In 2003, mankind tapped the power of the gene, fusing bone and machine to create the Mecha-Godzilla, an experimental abomination known as Kiryu. The challenge was met by a new Godzilla. The monster queen Mothra warned us of our folly, and gave her life to put nature back in balance.
But mankind ignored her warning.
