Chase sequences are staples of the Horror genre but are also heavily featured in other genres too. The scenes where a character is being chased by another/other character/s always gets the adrenalin pumpin', guess it's the thrill of trying to avoid being caught. So what are your favorite characters chasing characters sequences?
REMEMBER: NO VEHICLES, ANIMALS OR MONSTERS - HUMAN Vs HUMAN ONLY!
My Picks;
Harry Lime being chased in the sewers - The Third Man
Al Pacino chasing Robin Williams on wooden logs - Insomnia
Tom Cruise being chased by police - Minority Report
Cameron Diaz and Catherine Keener through the mind of John Malkovich - Being John Malkovich
Keanu Reeves chasing The Ex-Presidents in Point Break
Michelle Yeoh chasing Zhang Ziyi in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Foot chase with William Petersen chasing the credit card forgers in To Live and Die in L.A.
Coincidentally, the film has one of the best CAR chases in history, also.

The very first film I thought of.
Also, about 95% of RUN LOLA RUN counts as a long, brilliant chase sequence.

Although I loved the chase sequences in POINT BREAK, RUN LOLA RUN and NARC, I'm going with a classic:
Michael chasing Laurie through the neighborhood in the great final act of HALLOWEEN.

I have to challenge you on that when you say "throughout the neighborhood"
It was a very SHORT chase scence since she went across the street from the house she was babysitting at. But running for your life from a crazed maniac will definately seem like a race. :D

Run Lola Run was great, but it wasn't really a chase; more of a race or sprint. Doesn't a chase need more than one person?

I dug the dark and stylized chase of John Doe by Detective Mills and Somerset in Se7en and its copycat, but also well done chase in The Crimson Rivers. ilovemovies is right though, the Carlito's Way chase is the shit. Trainspotting's chase is brilliantly captured to Lust for Life, Olive Oil and her kerazy kid getting away from Jack Torrance at the end of The Shining is worth mentioning too. Also The Beatles being chased by ...well, England in the beginning of A Hard Day's Night is a great scene as well. My favorite though is probably Butch and Sundance being chased by the four trackers, "Who are these guys?"

All the great ones like Heat, Carlito's Way, Narc have been said, but still maybe a few have been omitted so far:
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring- Ringwraiths w/ Arwen and Frodo (or do horses count as vehicles)
Minority Report- Through the mall
How about Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (yes they end up on a train, but the train is never used as a means to capture or to flee)

You guys know how to pick 'em but I just remembered a few which haven't been mentioned so what do you think of these;
Romper Stomper had several violent chase sequences through inner-city estates led by a young Russell Crowe.
Something I always remembered from childhood was watching
Enter The Dragon for the first time and the sequence where Bruce Lee's sister is chased by Han's henchmen, gets trapped then kills herself with a piece of glass. I used to get freaked out by that scene.
I'm pretty sure The French Connection has a couple of good but brief chase sequences through the streets of New York as well as the infamous car chase.
Gone in 60sec

All the ones said like Heat, The Fugitive, US. Marshalls, The Hunted, Narc, Matrix, Minortiy Report, Enemy of the State
and a couple more not said :
The Bourne Identity- if i remember that one had a good one
same with Catch Me If You Can or im thinking of that one because of the title
I love tbone's picks. Minority Report had some great foot chases, the climactic foot chase in Carlito's Way is terrific, and I loved the train chase in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
No Way Out also had a few tense foot chases. The Arrival, as well.

The first thing I thought of was Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon, though he was chasing a car. I always got a kick out of that.
I also like that scene of Arwen and Frodo being chased by Ring Wraiths.

The Terminator - At the end of the "Tech Noir" sequence when Reese shots the T-800 with his shotgun, says "Come with me if you wanna live!" and the Terminator chases them to the car. I just love everything about that movie...
Terminator 2: Judgement Day - Another favourite, another James Cameron movie. The part where the T-1000 tries to catch John Connor on foot when he's on his lil' motorbike. In fact; all the scenes with the T-1000 chasing after them on foot rocks!
The Burning - Alfred running away from Cropsy... talk about intense! :D
Sorry if I hurt anyone's eyes! I wanted to be creative... hehe
