Which movie tells the more realistic story of struggling to write a script? Both movies have other sub plots (Fink with the John Goodman character and Adaptation with Streep and Cooper) but esentially both movies are about the struggles of a screenwriter.

As much as i enjoyed watching Cage rip into the character of Kaufman and the story is more originial per se than Fink i have to go with Coen brothers on this one. It's one of their best work to date and redefined the presence of the actor John Torturro for me.

Both great but Adaptation has a place in my top ten all-time.

much as i love adaptation...it became a little too clever for its own good......the satirical ending just went a little too far i think

BARTON FINK without a doubt.

Adaptation was good despite Cage, but it's really no competition.

Both are great, four-star films, but i'm leaning to Barton Fink, on account of John Turturro's brilliant performance and eccentricities of Coen filmmaking that the Hotel Earle epitomizes.

Both are great movies, but come on. The Coens vs. Jonze. I gotta choose The Coens. Barton Fink is a frickin great movie, and Adaptation. is not quite as good.

Barton Fink - 9/10
Adaptation. - 8/10

Barton Fink.

'Adaptation' is a good movie-not great-but 'Barton' is just simply amazing. 'Adaptation' doesn't hold much of a handle to it.

Adaption (9/10) beats Barton Fink (8.5/10, maybe 9) by a nose.
