Shelob gave a awesome performance at great personal risk. Like most of her movies(8-legged Freaks and Harry Potter 2) She stands as a pillar for giant Spiders everywhere.

What a great movie. I loved the whole Pippin/Merry thing going on, it was cute to see how close they are.

The stomping is worthy of a Oscar! I have never seen such superb stomping since the T-Rex in Jurassic Park :D

He (or she) really got into the part as the ultimate killing machine
Rumours on set was Oliphaunt#3 has a close relationship to Director Peter Jackson  :p

While I think Sean Astin's performance is the best, I think Billy Boyd's performance is one of the better ones, and bound to be the most underrated and overlooked. His character was fleshed out significantly, and he was surprisingly excellent. His singing scene was probably my favorite moment in the whole film.

Miranda Otto too was given much more to work with and gave a very good performance. Really though, the whole cast was great.

Here here! Well, it's not my most favorite moment but it's one of them, that scene really brought tears to my eyes. Billy Boyd was mighty impressive.

Ditto! I loved that scene, in fact, that was one of the few scenes I liked. The movie was a big dissapointment for me (5/10).
I don't like Miranda Otoo, Cate Blanchett and Liv Tyler at all in these movies. How odd, the only women in the movie  .

Top 3

1) Sean Astin (Flawless)
2) Billy Boyd (Flawless)
3) Elijah Wood

Yeah, I think that Ebert said that both the movies and Tolkien never really knew what to do with the female characters.
