I've noticed something interesting of late.
When film series hit their 3rd entry, said installment seems to have varying effects.
For instance, #3 could be a new high for a series(like the James Bond films[with Goldfinger] & the spaghetti westerns[with The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly]).
That same number, though, could mean the proverbial end of the road for other series(such as Scream, Jurassic Park, Robocop, & Superman)
Still, there are some film series with a third entry that does it no harm at all(such as Dirty Harry & Star Trek).
