I just downloaded this 8 min flick after I read the article here on JoBlo.com.
All I have to say is: Kick-Ass
It Starts off great as we see Wayne getting dressed in the dark, in the background plays the radio saying that The Joker had escaped from Arkham.
As the title appears we here bats screaming and their wings making sound as they fly.
Batman arrive to find The Joker, a fight ensues, nice little dialogue between The Joker and Batman, but then from nowhere, an Alien arrives, get's shot by the Predator, a cool fight between Batsy and da Pred ensues, Batsy wins after a lot of bruises, he thinks have won.. but Nopsy, the bunch from Predator 2 arrives and a shit load of Aliens from Aliens arrives to have a war of their own featuring Batman stuck in the middle, a dead end ensues
Well.. the movie starts off great, the Joker scene is also cool but then once the aliens arrive and the Predator arrives, it just get's out of hand.
Good job on the lighting, the movie seemed really dark, like it should be, unlike the colorfull Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.
We have a nice shot of Batman that has landed on the ground, he is in the middle of the light, half in a hole with water (forget the proper expression for this) and his cape half on the ground make the batman logo, pretty darn cool.
Another cool thing, was Batman's costume, it remind me of Alex Ross's vision of Batman, like in his book, it's really Ross's Batman we get in the short film.

This short has a wicked feel to it - Dark! I really liked the look of The Joker. When the Aliens and the Predators came on, I sat there in aw thinking "What in the fuck is going on?" It started off very good though to bad it ended so, so badly.

The best moment ever is when he slowly rises from the wet ground and his cape slowly follows. Beautiful!
The acting was good, at least from Bats, the Alien and esspecially the Predator (who captured the essance of a Predator perfectly). Though I did think the Joker was a tad bit over the top, and he carried the dialouge a bit occuardly... maybe it was his writing (they tried to cram alot for his character).
The thing that set the movie was definately the cinamatography and the costumes.
My video store accually had this for a rental for a dollar.

i wasn't sure if i was supposed to be laughing my ass off while watching it or not. but seriously, there was some really funny shit. like the part where the joker's talking, and in mid sentence the alien grabs him, and he makes that goofy noise. man, it really got to me.

I thought that it was a decent flick for a student film.
Obviously the costumes and the music rocked.
And I agree that it's shining moment was the cape in the rain as Batman stands up.
Plus the fact it was gritty and Bats wasn't afraid to get dirty or wet.
I was really digging it until the whole alien predator crap started.
Then it become more of a spoof than a serious Bat film.
Over all I originally thought it was a decent student film.
But then I did some research on the dude who directed and found out he has been working in creater FX for decades and would have had access to all the materials to make the costumes, plus he is a sculpture, etc.
So that made me think less of the film as he is in the business and the costume angle was nailed.
So that leaves the rest of the flick. Which honestly looked like a well done student flick that most could have done with the access to creature shops.
My main likes are the music usage and the one shot. Other than that it is just another fan film. But made by someone that has access to movie industry quality crap. It should have been better.

In fact I more or less agree with Common Sense Man.
The monster costumes were cool, but I know personally people who can do stuff like that at least as well. Cinematography is good and the fight coreographies are quite well done. But it's a bit rough around the edges technically, and a rather hollow film storywise.
Is is good? Yes.
But it has reached it's popularity exactly because it has Batman, Predator and Aliens in it. If it would have original characters with equal execution, people wouldn't have paid as much attention. There are countless of short films made every year which are just well made, if not better, on a similar budget.
Still, I give the guy props for pulling it off, and apparently studios have been interested in dealing with him. All the best luck for him.

I more or less agree with Tuuka and CSM. It's a well made student movie, except that I don't really understand why some people are calling it "the best live action Batman movie ever." Once Alien and Predator came in, all bets were off. A worse addition than Bat nipples

I think the main reason some are calling it the best Batman flick ever is because it is basic.
Bats gets dirty right from the start, he is not some shining hero that the rain runs off and the dirt avoids. He is a bit more human.
I think that Burtons Batman is dark and gritty as well but in a different way.
The fact that this was so low budget helped I think. Batman was less of a mythic shadowy mystery and more a regular joe that bled and could get his ass whooped just like one of us.
If you check out the dudes website he has made commercials and is trying to start his own production company. So agian from that standpoint I would have expected a better film.
But I think his talent lies in the fact he was able to Edit the music and the one or two good visuals together.
I did not think the fight scenes were anything spectacular.
But again I think that made it better, it was like something you would see on Cops not a big budget production.
Who knows what his original goal was, but if it was to get publicity it worked.
Would I like to see his Bats in a major motion picture, naw, stick with Butrons vision.
