Robbins gets my vote...I think he'll take it!

I'm surprised you didn't add Ken Watanabe in THE LAST SAMURAI. He's a lot of people's choice for the best of the year and even has a strong chance of being nominated. He was nomianted at the Globes, too. And I believe he will be nominated.

I say Benicio Del Toro, although for some reason his buzz isn't that strong. :( So otherwise, Tim Robbins.

Tim Robbins for "Mystic River" or Ken Watanabe for "The Last Samurai"

Another hard choice its between
Sean Astin in The Return Of The King
Tim Robbins in Mystic River
Ken Watanabe in The Last Samurai
and i think i would have to go with Sean Astin because he's kinda like Peter Jackson throught this trilogy he's given a great performance in the first two and even better in the third and best out of the whole cast so i think hes up for one for his 4 year effort on his character.

I voted Robbins, though for me it's really a tie between Robbins and Watanabe in Last Samurai.

Mickey Rourke's terrific turn in SPUN impressed me, but my vote goes to "Other," for Dustin Hoffman's great supporting performance as The King in CONFIDENCE.

OTHER: Ken Watanabe in The Last Samurai
Although I didn't think the movie was THAT great (I admit it was very good though), Watanabe was absolutely amazing in it.

I'd say Tim Robbins from your list, but I enjoyed Ken Watanabe in The Last Samurai a little bit more.

I voed for Tim Robbins, but Kevin Bacon gave an equally powerful performance in the same movie.
Nice to include Eugene Levy on that list, Antonio. Sean Astin also was great in ROTK.

I definitely agree with you on this. Nighy stole the show.
I vote Astin. Spun was a 2002 movie was it not?

Other how can you not include Ken Watanabe in this poll!
Sean Astin-The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Ken Watanabe-The Last Samurai
Tim Robbins-Mystic River
Paul Bettany-Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Benicio Del Toro-21 Grams
These would be my 5 nominations...and I think all have a decent shot. Watanabe was amazing in The Last Samurai and even overshadowed TC he gave that film its heart and spirit. Sean Astin goes without saying...he is the best character in the books, the films and Sam is so triumphant in ROTK this performance cannot be overlooked! Tim Robbins was great in Mystic River and the best performance in the movie...he is due and he looks to be an early favorite. Paul Bettany was superb in M&C and gave a nice balance to Russell Crowe's commanding presence. Benicio Del Toro is also wonderful in 21 Grams perhaps the best acted film of the year with Penn and Watts IMO.

Sean Astin
I think Kiefer Sutherland did an outstanding job as the villain in PHONE BOOTH. I also think Ian McKellan was outstanding as Gandalf in RETURN OF THE KING.

Totally agree, except I think it won't be Paul Bettany there but either Alec Baldwin or Albert Finney. I think so, anyway.

ThereWolf's vote goes to Alec Baldwin in The Cooler he was awesome in it!
BTW: Here's hoping that Baldwin not only lands a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination this year, but also a Worst Supporting Actor nomination from the Razzies for The Cat in the Hat.
Just like what happened to Christopher Walken last year! :D

Ken Watanabe
I don't know if he'll win, but he's does deserve a nomination - he did drama, action, emotion and more in a supporting role.
