Hey all. This isn't my script, but a friend's. He's looking for all kinds of feedback, and so I want to post it at JoBlo. Hope you guys like it. It's from a guy named Justin Morris, who a few years back wrote Halloween '98, a popular fan-script.

Check it out at --

No replies :( Oh well, my last chance to entice you! It's been read by Anthony Masi of HalloweenMovies.com, and Thac from Fridaythe13thforum, and both loved it. For the conformists out there, don't you want to fit in? ;)

Oh well. Life must go on :)

I started reading it yesterday. So far it's very good and clever for a Halloween movie. If it gets made in to a movie it will definitely be better than the last sequel. I'll give you more details after I finish it. :)

I am a die-hard "Halloween" fan, but I wasn't so crazy about your first 60 pages (didn't have the time to read through all of it). You're obviously trying to acknowledge H4-6 storyline, and I like that. But, for the most part, the whole thing just didn't click with me. You're being faithful with the source material, but it just was too different for its own good. It didn't feel like I was reading a "Halloween" script. Also, I don't like how Laurie is suddenly being revealed to have "survived" her fall and knife attack. Too far-fetched; Curtis wanted to leave the series and that's what she chose for "Resurrection." And lastly, the few Michael instances just didn't feel real. Michael would have sliced that girl instead of letting her fall and get impaled (even though it is a great, ironic death in itself).

I'm on the part were Laurie meets Autumm in the library after the first murders. So far it's good, but a bit too serious and slow. There's a lot of talking and not much Michael or blood. It's definitely better than Resurrection though. I like how we are introduced to Laurie and how you included all the characters from the past series and I also love the library murder of the girl. I think some scenes should be deleted and replaced with more murders or more Michael by himself. But so far it's a great and very well written script. ;)

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Justin will appreciate it. The murder issue is kind of funny -- originally, he wrote the first two murders, of the girl and her boyfriend, but he decided he wanted to make a more "classy" script, so he cut it. I had to fight him to keep the library murders!

Laurie, yeah, might be a bit far-fetched. But this was never intended for filming, so just think of it as fan-fiction. He had an explanation for her survival at one time, but I can't quite remember why he cut it.

Anyway, thanks again :)

**** BIG ASS SPOILERS AHEAD ****

I just finished it. It was going so well, so good...but that Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning twist ruined everything. That was really lame! But it got better when the real Michael showed up. As a fan made script it was very good, brilliant compared to the ones I've read. But if this is supposed to be filmed, then it won't work. I know it's not going to be a film and that is not intended to be filmed, but that twist was a big dissapointment. But it was still a fun reading. Tell Justin to keep the good work and to work on something else, I believe he has the talent to write a great horror movie. :)

**** END OF BIG ASS SPOILERS ****

Sad man, could I get you to edit that post by chance, so anyone who reads it won't be spoiled?

I read it... :(

But I don't mind because Sad man is too friendly to have done it to me on purpose. ;)

Okay, now we have that solved. As I said in a pm, I'm sorry Sad man had problems with that particular 'ending.' Just remember, guys -- keep an open mind, and know that Justin (and me, for a couple pages) intended to make this more of an interesting continuation of the mythos of Halloween than an attempt to copy the original or any of the sequels.

I really liked it. It was interesting and unpredictable. I wasn't sure where the story would go next. The twist made sense and fit fairly well, although there may be some problems with the abilities of The Shape... Anyways, it was a cool read, and I liked the final revelation and the ending. It is a shame that some other stupider script will more than likely get filmed when something this good gets passed by (although it could use a little work to become film-able). By the way -- I noticed a few things that were similar to SCREAM and THE FACULTY. Was this a coincidence or homage-style set-ups? Good read anyways.:)

There were quite a few homages in it. I remember Justin considered deleting the "I didn't hear her complaining last night" line because it was a bit too obviously taken from Bride of Chucky.
