Horror:

Alien
Psycho (Hitch)
The Haunting (Wise)
Dawn of the Dead
The Fly (Cronenberg)

Non-Horror
(boy, this one's tough, I spend so little time thinking of anything that's non-horror)

Yojimbo
Blade Runner
Pi
The Abyss
American Beauty

And I'll probably cram "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" in there once I see it again.

the Andromeda Strain-I may need to explain this.i saw this movie around 1972-73,and being a small child ,it scared the hell out of me.The scientist walking into a town where all the people had been killed by a virus was frightning to me.then they cut a deceased person and found his blood to be powder.I don't know if the film is even watchable now,but Then,it was scary.
