This looks awful and I will not be seeing it, but seeing as it opens in two days and a thread is yet to be started for it, I thought I would take the honors.
Anyways, this movie will BOMB horribly. End of discussion.

God, the TV spots for this are dreadful. I think the fact that no one opened a thread for this should indicate how popular it will be.

"My Baby's Daddy" is just one of the many January films I will not be seeing in the theaters. This month is filled with lots of shitty looking films, as always. I despise January....... ;)

Looks horrible IMO. It's like the black version of what's the old movie. 3 men and a baby? Something like that.

You know a movie's in trouble when they hinge their ad campaign around Method Man offering a grilled cheese sandwich made on an ironing board to someone....(It was already done in He Got Game IIRC)
Rental at best.

Sup, 2 Pac?!
Um, no.
This movie looks downright awful! Although I may end up seeing it, I am thinking rental.

The fact that this "movie" actually made over $2 million opening day shows that some moviegoers have no intelligence whatsoever.

I worry about North America now that this movie has made more than $0 at the box office. What an awful-looking pile of crap.

I'm surprised by how much it made. It never looked like a movie I'd actually go out and see if it meant I had to spend some money, but if a friend was watching it, I'd watch it. I'm a huge Soprano fan, and Imperioli would probably be enough of a reason for me to see it instead of just turning away

Here's what I think tends to happen here:
Studio exec: "There aren't many movies for black people."
Black person: "I see movies all the time with great black characters."
Studio exec: "Yeah, but not many movies FOR black people."
Black person: "Well that's because Hollywood is a dominant world film power, and it's impossible to cover every American culture individ-"
Studio exec: "You're missing the point! We think it would be good to make a BLACK movie! People would flock to it!"
Black person: "So you're saying people will go see a movie just because it's made about black people? Regardless of quality or origionality?"
Studio exec: "Exactly!"
Black person: "This has just set my race back fifty years..."

Um, did anyone end up seeing this movie? I'm hearing a lot of negative reaction, and a really puzzling simulation of an executive meeting, but was anyone there to see if it was all that bad?

Unfortunately i'm one of the poor saps that saw this crap. [not my fault btw, i was dragged into the movie kicking and scraming].
But seeing the film, as is the case with most things in life, was a learning experience. i learned that a quality black film consists of:
1 handful of played out black actors
1 haphazardly concieved "script"
generous amounts of racial stereotypes and crap
1 token white character for flavor
mix well and serve. [double ingredients if a sequel is desired]

I have NO desire to go see this film and I cannot believe these actors were DUMB enough to take the roles. If I were them, I wouldn't DARE add this to my resume.

I saw this two weeks ago, actually. It wasn't a good movie...I wouldn't even call in fair...but it wasn't a big piece of turd like I thought I'd be. It had some moments, one or two maybe, but it was more of a time killer.
