Hi. This is the second idea Ive been working on. This will probably be the one I use for screenwriting class.

I always think about those actors who are trying to make a comeback. What if theyre film that propped as a comeback failed, as a lot do in real life, but failed so badly that actors life was effectively ruined. What if this actor became so angry and depressed that he bagan to focous on the one critic that gave him the worst review. Thinking he might do something about he begans to become obssesed with this Ebert like critic. He also has a budding relationship at this time that is keeping him just stable enough but maybe not for long.

I hope to write this soon along with my other idea.

Sounds a little like The Player by Robert Altman. If you havent seen it it's about a screenwriter plotting to kill the producer that passed on his script.

Although, your idea sounds significantly different so you could definately make it work. The Player also poked fun at the "workings" of Hollywood so I imagine yours would be more about the Actor and his struggle. (ha! I love that word!)

I just thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to check the film out. Good luck with the writing!

So would he like, start stalking him? It sounds really good so far, kind of like those eerie freaky thriller films. But I'm sorta confused, is the main plot him trying to get revenge on the critic or something else?

I was thinking it could start as one thing and turn into another. he originally just wants to kill the guy and s tarts stalking him but gradually becomes more obssesed. Goes from thriller to an odd psychological drama.

I see how it relates to The Player but this is more on the actors side than critics side
